Role: Android Developer (Infotainment)

Location: Ottawa, ON

  • As infotainment IVI developer, responsible to refactor the existing product and improve the performance of the software
  • Analyse and triage and fix the issues reported by validation team
  • Responsible to interact with team spread across multiple geography and get faster on time solution to the problems reported
  • Mandatory Skills
  • Good understanding of Android architecture and Android HAL Layer, preferably Android-O or later
  • Understanding of Automotive SoC architecture(application processor and Vehicle processor)
  • Experience in Android code base - Application layer (Java), JNI, Native frameworks(C )
  • Good understanding of Android programming environment using Binders, Shared memory, IPC mechanisms, etc.
  • Good knowledge in Android Services/Framework layer and its debugging
  • Programming experience preferably in Kotlin, C and C++
  • Expertise in Vehicle Interface & knowledge on Infotainment systems
  • Debugging skills to troubleshoot problems in any layer of Android
  • Application development for Android Infotainment systems covering following areas - Navigation, Connectivity (WiFi, BT), Projection (Android Auto, Carplay)
  • Tools: GIT & Gerrit, JIRA, Android source build system, Android debugging tools

Responsibilities

Refactor the existing Android infotainment product and improve software performance. Analyze, triage, and fix issues reported by the validation team, coordinating with geographically distributed teams to deliver timely solutions.

Requirements

Requires strong knowledge of Android architecture, preferably Android O or later, Android HAL, automotive SoC architecture, and Android application, JNI, and native framework code. Candidates should have programming experience in Kotlin, C, or C++, expertise in vehicle interfaces and infotainment, and debugging skills across navigation, connectivity, and projection features.
