Senior Developer: Java, Microservices, Event Processing, SQL Microservices, AKS. Databricks is nice to have but not required

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer / Senior Designer with strong expertise in Java, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, SQL, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable, cloud-native applications while working closely with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and DevOps engineers.

The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on development experience, a solid understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to deliver high-quality enterprise solutions in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop enterprise applications using Java and Microservices architecture.

Build, deploy, and support containerized applications on AKS.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services.

Implement event-driven solutions and messaging-based architectures.

Write optimized SQL queries and support database design activities.

Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Participate in system design, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

Support CI/CD pipelines, production deployments, and release activities.

Troubleshoot complex application issues and provide timely resolutions.

Follow engineering best practices, coding standards, and Agile methodologies.

Experience Required

8–12 years of overall IT experience.

5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

Strong experience in Microservices and cloud-native application development.

Experience working with Kubernetes and AKS deployments.

Experience designing scalable and high-performance enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable Java microservices and cloud-native applications on AKS, including REST APIs, event-driven integrations, and SQL-backed solutions. Collaborate with architects and stakeholders on technical design, maintain application quality and reliability, and support code reviews, CI/CD, releases, and production troubleshooting.

Requirements

Requires 8–12 years of overall IT experience, including at least five years of hands-on Java development, with strong experience in microservices, cloud-native applications, Kubernetes, and AKS. Candidates should be able to design scalable enterprise applications and work effectively with distributed systems and cross-functional teams; Databricks is a nice-to-have, not a requirement.
