Job Title: Director - Area CCFSC

Job Description:

The Director of Sales leads a regional or customer segment inside sales organization that is responsible for driving revenue and customer growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. Managing a team of inside sales professionals, the Director ensures high performance in customer engagement, quoting, and order management, while meeting or exceeding company sales goals.

This role requires close communication with field sales management (i.e. Regional VPs, branch GMs, Global Account Managers, etc.), aligning company strategy, sharing best practices, and addressing obstacles while ensuring the team has the proper tools, training, and resources is paramount to success. In addition, being able to collaborate strongly with marketing business units, credit and logistics as well as other internal departments is required.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of inside sales professionals focused on customer service, quoting, and order fulfillment.
Conduct regular 1:1 meetings to review performance, provide coaching and feedback, and discuss opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Thorough understanding of each ISR’s workload within their respective territory and managing the account packages accordingly.
Foster collaboration across departments - operations, finance, credit, logistics, product management, etc. - to ensure consistent and effective communication supporting ISRs and customer needs.
Execute annual performance reviews, evaluate ISRs' performance, and set clear personal goals and development opportunities for the coming year.
Sales Strategy & Growth Execution
Work with ISRs to develop and execute sales strategies for key customers to meet company expectations.
Partner closely with manufacturers’ representatives to build strong relationships, align customer and market focus, and drive mutual business growth.
Work directly with branch GMs on shared accounts and new business opportunities to ensure alignment on strategy, expectations, and customer engagement.
Awareness of focus product growth initiatives (i.e. PIE) where inside sales can make a difference by working with supplier partners and internal product managers to maximize results.
Identify market growth opportunities and address performance gaps.
Account & Customer Management
Oversee and monitor customer contact frequency and ensure consistent, proactive engagement by the inside sales team.
Conduct quarterly reviews of account packages to rebalance workloads, reassign underperforming accounts, and optimize growth potential.
Ensure regular quote follow-up activity is performed and properly documented within the company’s quote dashboard.
Participate in quarterly customer business reviews and follow up with summary reviews, including action plans.
Promote strong relationship development between the inside sales team, customers, and all internal departments supporting customer success.
Monitor customer satisfaction, account health, and growth opportunities, addressing risks or performance issues proactively.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
Monitor daily operations to ensure accurate quoting, timely order processing, and reliable delivery follow-up.
Lead efforts to improve sales processes, systems usage, and data accuracy to support long-term business growth.
Ensure the sales team has the proper and functional tools (CRM, quote dashboard, communication tools) to perform efficiently and effectively.
Executive Communication & Collaboration
Maintain regular communication with the Regional VP of Sales regarding regional performance, key wins, obstacles, and emerging opportunities.
Provide clear updates on progress within the team and escalate challenges that may impact success.
Participate in sales leadership meetings to share best practices, coordinate cross-regional initiatives, and align with company direction.
Effectively communicate, adhere to, and instill in others our company's core values of Integrity, Commitment, Teamwork, and Courage
Training, Mentoring & Continuous Improvement
Identify and engage in training opportunities for both self and team to enhance product knowledge, sales process expertise, and leadership capability.
Mentor team members to build future leaders within the sales organization.
Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and teamwork throughout the region.
Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to ensure new/current subjects are incorporated in onboarding programs, and team members receive refresher training sessions where required.

Qualifications

University Degree
Thorough understanding of distribution models and competitive landscape
Results-oriented with an ability to motivate team members
Self-starter with the capability of a creative mindset
Experience and understanding in the leadership of a team
Proficiency in creating strong Manufacturer rep relationships and supplier engagements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
