Director - Canada

Employment Type:

Full-time

Location:

Company Overview:

GagaMuller is a Project Management Consultancy with specific divisions focused on providing Project Management, Cost Management, and Digital services to owner organisation within the construction industry.

With a proven track record working alongside global technology leaders and data centre developers, we combine local expertise with global standards to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.

At GagaMuller, we empower people and organisations to build with data.

Role Description:

We are looking for a Director - Canada to join GagaMuller. You will collaborate with experienced, diverse, and passionate teams, fostering a strong social dynamic and collective sense of achievement. This role offers you extensive industry exposure, helping you broaden your skills, open doors to new opportunities, and expand your perspective. We are committed to empowering you, providing real responsibility, and supporting your career growth through mentorship from industry leaders and the tools you need to succeed. You will also contribute to shaping our business strategy as we continue to grow. At GagaMuller, building lasting, trusted relationships with our teams and clients is at the core of what we do.

With a market-leading client base and the opportunity to take the lead on strategic commissions and high-profile projects, this is an exciting time to join the business unit and grow a career with GagaMuller.

The Opportunity

GagaMuller is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Director to lead the development of our Canadian operations, taking ownership of a major client account while establishing the foundations for a sustainable, scalable business in Canada.

This is a foundational leadership appointment for an individual who can combine immediate operational impact with longer-term strategic thinking. Initially, you will take the lead on a major account, stabilizing the existing team, strengthening client relationships, and establishing clear direction across project delivery, resource planning, and commercial performance. As the account matures, your focus will progressively shift toward team leadership, business development, and building GagaMuller's broader Canadian presence.

Reporting to the SVP of Operations, North America, you will work closely with the wider North American leadership team to translate GagaMuller's objectives into operational performance and sustainable growth.

GagaMuller is a global Project Management and Cost Management consultancy combining construction expertise with data and digital solutions. Operating across Mission Critical sectors we support clients delivering complex capital projects through an owner-side, client-focused approach.

We are looking for a leader who can establish credibility quickly, take accountability for outcomes, and build an operation rather than remain a permanent individual contributor. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage immediate delivery requirements while developing the people, processes, relationships, and commercial opportunities needed to establish GagaMuller as a long-term presence in Canada.

Responsibilities

  1. Scope & Delivery Management
  • Take operational ownership of a major client account, stabilizing the existing team, establishing clear delivery priorities, and ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and aligned with client expectations.
  • Develop and execute a 6–12-month operational plan, progressively transitioning from hands-on delivery to leading through the team while maintaining account performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Establish and scale GagaMuller's Canadian operation, building the team, operating structure, and commercial foundations required to support sustainable growth beyond the initial account.

2. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key client stakeholders, project owners, contractors, and industry partners, strengthening GagaMuller's position as a long-term delivery partner.
  • Work closely with the SVP of Operations, North America, and wider leadership team to align Canadian operational priorities, resource requirements, and business development objectives with the company's wider strategy.
  • Lead team development and coordination, establishing clear responsibilities, accountability, and communication across project delivery, business development, and central support functions.

3. Risk & Compliance Management

  • Identify and manage operational, commercial, contractual, and reputational risks across the account and Canadian operation, implementing appropriate mitigation and escalation procedures.
  • Ensure project delivery and business operations comply with applicable Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal requirements, contractual obligations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Establish effective operational controls and resource management practices, monitoring account performance, team capacity, and commercial exposure to support sustainable growth.

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain clear reporting on account performance, financial objectives, resource utilization, project delivery, business development, and progress against agreed operational plans.
  • Provide regular updates to the SVP of Operations, North America, on key achievements, emerging risks, client requirements, team development, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain the operational documentation, management processes, and performance indicators required to support governance, informed decision-making, and the long-term development of GagaMuller's Canadian operation.

5. Collaboration & Integration

  • Work collaboratively with GagaMuller's North American leadership and global support functions to align Canadian operations with the company's wider strategic objectives, operating standards, and delivery model.
  • Partner with Talent, HR, Finance, IT, and other central functions to support recruitment, workforce planning, employee development, financial controls, and the establishment of the Canadian entity.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration, leveraging GagaMuller's international expertise and resources to strengthen client delivery and support the sustainable growth of the Canadian operation.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, project management or a related discipline.
  • Project Management or Quantity Surveyor credentials desirable.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.

What Experience We Are Looking For:

  • 8+ years in data centre or mission-critical construction delivery, on the owner's side
  • Proven client-account ownership and site-delivery leadership.
  • Track record of building and leading teams.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage.
  • Generous company pension contribution.
  • Competitive annual leave allowance and work-life balance benefits.
  • State-of-the-art technology and hardware.
