Position Summary
Galaxie Brands is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented QA Supervisor to provide day-to-day onsite quality oversight and support manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, inventory, and sanitation operations.
This role is responsible for ensuring quality activities are executed in accordance with company procedures, Good Production Practices (GPP), and Cannabis Regulations. The QA Supervisor works closely with Production, Inventory, Labeling, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure quality requirements are consistently met and issues are identified, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary onsite QA presence, supporting routine quality operations, investigations, documentation review, training, and continuous improvement activities while providing guidance and support to QA personnel and operational teams. This role also supports the QAP in maintaining compliance and is intended to support current and future AQAP responsibilities.
Location: Aylmer, Ontario
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Onsite Quality Oversight
- Provide day-to-day QA oversight of manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, inventory, and sanitation activities.
- Support production operations to ensure activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
- As required, perform line clearances and routine floor inspections.
- Verify completion and accuracy of production, packaging, sanitation, inventory, and quality records.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate quality concerns, deviations, and compliance risks.
- Support timely resolution of quality-related issues across departments.
Quality Systems Support
- Support implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead or support investigations, deviations, complaints, CAPAs, and change controls.
- Support document control activities and controlled document review.
- Assist with development, revision, and implementation of SOPs, forms, and work instructions.
- Maintain quality records in an organized and audit-ready manner.
Inventory, Labeling & Material Status Oversight
- Support oversight of approved, quarantined, rejected, returned, hold, and aged inventory.
- Work closely with the Inventory Associate and QA Label Technician to ensure inventory and labeling activities comply with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support investigations involving inventory discrepancies, labeling issues, deviations, and traceability concerns.
- Verify material disposition activities are properly documented and executed.
Training & Supervision
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to QA personnel and operational teams.
- Support onboarding and training employees on quality procedures, GPP requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Promote quality awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
- Act as a key onsite resource for quality, compliance, and operational decision-making.
- Support development of a strong quality culture across the facility.
Audits & Compliance
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Assist in preparing documentation, records, and responses during audit and inspection activities.
- Monitor compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Follow up on observations, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve quality systems, documentation, training, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Support implementation of process improvements and quality initiatives.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Other Duties
- Perform additional quality assurance and compliance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences discipline, including Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Regulatory Affairs, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Production Quality, Compliance, Quality Control, or a related role within a regulated industry.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of the Cannabis Act, Cannabis Regulations, Good Production Practices (GPP), and quality system requirements.
- Experience supporting investigations, deviations, CAPAs, change controls, audits, inspections, and document control activities.
- Experience reviewing production, packaging, sanitation, inventory, and quality records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems, quality management systems, and electronic documentation systems is considered an asset.
- Must hold a valid Health Canada Security Clearance.
- Must be currently approved as a Qualified Assurance Person (QAP) or Alternate Qualified Assurance Person (AQAP), or possess the education, experience, and qualifications required to obtain Health Canada approval as an AQAP.

What Success Looks Like
The successful QA Supervisor will:
- Serve as the primary onsite QA presence and trusted quality resource for site operations.
- Ensure quality issues are identified, communicated, investigated, and resolved promptly.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready quality records.
- Support the QAP in maintaining compliance with Cannabis Regulations and internal quality requirements.
- Demonstrate the capability to assume AQAP responsibilities as required.
- Maintain a facility that is audit-ready and inspection-ready at all times.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
