  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and management reports for leadership and the board.
  • Own the annual budget and rolling forecasts, and track performance against plan.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and expense processes, and coach the team supporting them.
  • Coordinate the annual audit or review engagement with external accountants.
  • Manage Canadian and US tax compliance, including HST/GST, US sales tax, corporate filings, and SR&ED claims, in partnership with external advisors.
  • Track and report on government grants and funding programs, including claims, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Support inventory and product costing for manufacturing, including bill of materials (BOM) costing and margin analysis.
  • Build and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable processes as the company grows.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and sales on pricing, capital purchases, and business cases.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field, and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing.
