AI Platform Engineer - Long-term Contract | Hybrid, Toronto/GTA | Insurance Client
We are hiring an AI Platform Engineer for a long-term contract with a leading insurance client. Hybrid model - 2 days per week onsite in the GTA. Competitive hourly rate.
What you'll work on:
Agentic Frameworks & Architecture: Developing and coordinating specialized domain agents using frameworks like Google ADK - multi-agent orchestration, agent gateway architectures, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectivity.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) System Integration: Hands-on deployment and system integration on GCP - Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL. Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification is a plus.
Internal Platform & API Engineering: Moving from traditional application builds to scalable internal platforms - FastAPI for API integrations and Kubeflow Pipelines for workflow orchestration.
Governance & Observability: Implementing governance frameworks via specialized compliance agents (e.g., validating rule-based eligibility) and managing strict, structured tool invocations.
Generative AI & Data Retrieval: Building Generative AI and RAG integrations using Vertex AI Search to connect agents with internal datastores and unstructured knowledge bases.

Responsibilities
