Description

Procurement Manager

Drive the strategy behind the supply base supporting our critical defense programs. General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada (GDLS-C) is looking for an experienced people leader to manage a high-performing team and help shape sourcing, supplier relationships and procurement solutions that deliver value to our business and customers.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by combining strategic thinking and people leadership to strengthen our supply base, manage risk and drive value across the business. Working closely with leaders and cross-functional teams, the Procurement Manager will develop and execute strategies that support the successful delivery of our programs.

What You Will Do

Lead, coach and develop a team of procurement professionals, establishing and monitoring team goals, KPIs and performance.
Leadstrategic sourcing and procurement activities, including sourcing strategies, supplier selection, negotiations and contract management.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring performance, risks and opportunities for improvement.
Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business and program requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
Identify opportunities to improvecost, quality, delivery, supplier performance and overall value.
Ensure procurement activities align with GDLS-C, divisional and customer requirements, policies and procedures.
Support procurement reviews, special projects and business initiatives.
Provide leadership with updates on procurement activities, supplier performance, risks and emerging issues.
Act as a delegate for the Department Director, as required.

What You Bring

University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
7–10 years of relevant professional experience, including experience leading high-performing teams.
Strong leadership, decision-making, organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships.
Strong customer focus and collaborative approach.
Strong negotiation skills and comfort working with technical information.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10% Canada / 10% U.S. & international).
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and/or subcontract management.
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiations.
Knowledge of GDLS-C Terms & Conditions and/or contracts.
