Career Opportunity

GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Developer.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will design and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions for the software applications that support and operate our integrated sonar products. You'll join an established, cross-functional Scrum team to translate technical concepts and align with organizational goals. With a strong technical foundation and commitment to quality, you will mentor others, contribute to best practices and drive continuous improvement across development processes and product quality.

About Us

GeoSpectrum Technologies was founded in 1994 by friends who wanted to work together and build a collaborative workplace where employees take pride in contributing to cutting‑edge technology from concept to delivery. Based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, we design and manufacture state‑of‑the‑art underwater acoustic components, transducers, and end‑to‑end systems for maritime surveillance and exploration. Serving clients across ocean science, defence, and oil and gas industries, we are known for our innovation and for delivering reliable, customized solutions that exceed customer expectations. Over three decades, our core values have shaped a supportive and creative environment that emphasizes employee engagement, technical excellence, and strong customer relationships.

Apply deep technical expertise to guide architectural, design, and implementation decisions.
Identify, assess, and proactively manage technical and project risks.

Ownership & Accountability

Take full ownership and accountability for the successful delivery of significant features, projects, and technical initiatives.
Independently gather, analyze, and refine business and technical requirements.
Ensure work produces measurable business value and meets established quality standards.
Drive issues to resolution while maintaining a focus on outcomes and customer impact.

Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business stakeholders, customers, and external partners.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Build trusted relationships across teams and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
Facilitate discussions that align technical solutions with business needs and strategic priorities.

Leadership & Mentorship

Mentor and support developers and other team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.
