Are you looking for a hands-on career where no two days are the same? Join Gerdau as a Yard Operator and become an essential part of our operations team!
As a Yard Operator, you'll play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and productive yard operations. From inspecting and grading scrap materials to operating heavy equipment and supporting daily yard activities, you'll be part of a team that keeps our business moving forward.
What You'll Do
✅ Operate loaders, material handlers, and other mobile equipment safely and efficiently
✅ Inspect incoming and outgoing scrap materials for quality and environmental standards
✅ Assist with loading, unloading, and processing ferrous and non-ferrous materials
✅ Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks
✅ Support inventory management and operational efficiency initiatives
✅ Deliver outstanding customer service and work collaboratively with your team
✅ Participate in daily safety activities and uphold Gerdau's strong safety culture
What We're Looking For
✔ Previous experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
✔ Interest in learning scrap grading and recycling operations
✔ Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
✔ Problem-solving skills and a positive work ethic
✔ High school education preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $27.26 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate: - Cambridge, ON - reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
