Key Responsibilities:

Business Development: Actively prospect, cold call, and generate leads to expand GFL’s commercial and industrial customer base within the designated territory.
Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and contract renewals.
Solution Selling: Conduct waste stream evaluations and site audits to recommend customized environmental and waste management solutions.
Contract Negotiation: Prepare comprehensive proposals, present service agreements, and negotiate contract terms to secure profitable revenue.
Sales Strategy & Pipeline: Maintain an active pipeline of prospective clients using CRM software and execute strategic sales plans to achieve monthly revenue targets.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with local operations, customer service, and dispatch teams to ensure seamless service onboarding and delivery.
Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new growth avenues.
Reporting & Forecasting: Provide regular sales forecasts, activity logs, and pipeline reports to sales leadership.
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Competencies:

Education & Experience: Post-secondary education or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or 3+ years of successful B2B sales experience.
Licensing & Mobility: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record for territory travel.
Software & Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in CRM platforms (such as Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and sales management tools.
Communication & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to close deals.
Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of pricing structures, profit margins, and contract terms.
Relationship Building: Ability to interface effectively with key stakeholders, business owners, and corporate executives.
Self-Motivation & Resilience: Highly driven, goal-oriented, and resilient in fast-paced competitive markets.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in waste management, environmental services, or logistics sales is considered an asset.
