Position Summary
As a Class 5A Driver, you will play a critical role in visiting client sites to safely collect, transport, and properly manage waste materials. We are seeking a dependable driver with a clean safety record who brings a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset to the job. In this role, you will represent our company on the front lines, delivering reliable service while upholding strict safety standards and operational protocols.
Key Accountabilities
- Safely operate all assigned commercial equipment and ensures trucks and gear are properly loaded, inspected, and maintained.
- Serves as a professional brand ambassador for GFL on client sites, building positive customer relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services.
- Maintains clear, accurate driver logs to track hours of service, mileage, and hauled materials in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Actively participates in daily safety meetings, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRAs) to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with dispatchers, site supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Perform other operational duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Driving Abstract.
- Operating vehicles with a manual transmission is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Excellent customer-facing skills with clear verbal and written communication.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time independently.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions; requires manual dexterity and the ability to lift 75+ lbs.
