Role Description
The Immigration Consultant will work full time / part-time, on-site or hybrid at the Edmonton, AB office, providing consultation and case management for clients pursuing various Canadian immigration pathways. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing client eligibility, advising on immigration options, and preparing and reviewing applications for visas, work permits, study permits, permanent residence, and business immigration programs. The role involves interpreting relevant immigration laws and policies, maintaining accurate and confidential client records, and tracking application progress to ensure timely submissions. The consultant will communicate with clients regularly to explain procedures, request documentation, and provide status updates, while collaborating with colleagues to address complex immigration issues and maintain high professional standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of immigration issues and global immigration processes, with the ability to analyze individual client situations.
- Experience working with visas and related application procedures, including documentation, eligibility requirements, and timelines.
- Understanding of relevant Canadian law and regulations as they relate to immigration, compliance, and client representation.
- Consulting skills, including needs assessment, guidance, and clear communication with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) designation or eligibility, and good standing with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with office software and case management tools, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Previous experience in immigration services, legal environments, or related fields is an asset; multilingual abilities are beneficial.
