The opportunity

The Enterprise Business Analyst is a strategic role within the Technology department responsible for connecting business priorities with technology strategy, capability planning, solution definition, and value realization. The role partners with business functions, Technology leadership, enterprise architecture, solution delivery, cybersecurity, data, finance, procurement, and governance teams to translate business goals and function-specific requirements into actionable technology strategies, prioritized initiatives, and measurable business outcomes.

The Enterprise Business Analyst develops a deep understanding of current-state business processes, pain points, data dependencies, systems, operating models, and emerging opportunities, then converts that insight into practical technology roadmaps, business cases, requirements, and execution-ready recommendations.

The role

Strategic business partnership: Build trusted partnerships with business function leaders to understand strategic objectives, operational priorities, business challenges, growth opportunities, and decision-making needs.
Technology roadmap development: Lead the development and ongoing refinement of future-state technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategy, business capability requirements, modernization goals, risk reduction, and value creation opportunities.
Current-state assessment: Analyze and assess business processes, system landscapes, data flows, reporting needs, integrations, pain points, operating models, and manual workarounds to identify gaps, redundancies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Business capability planning: Translate business objectives into capability maps, future-state process needs, enabling technology capabilities, data requirements, integration dependencies, and implementation sequencing.
Initiative shaping and prioritization: Shape and prioritize technology initiatives, enhancement opportunities, automation solutions, analytics capabilities, workflow improvements, and transformation recommendations aligned with business priorities.
Business case development: Develop value-based business cases that define problem statements, expected benefits, cost considerations, risks, dependencies, options, tradeoffs, and measurable success criteria.
Innovation enablement: Evaluate emerging technologies, automation, analytics, artificial intelligence, workflow modernization, and new ways of working that may improve productivity, scalability, resilience, decision-making, or customer experience to identify opportunities.
Cross-functional alignment: Collaborate with enterprise architecture, solution delivery, cybersecurity, data, procurement, finance, legal, and governance teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned to enterprise standards.
Executive communication: Synthesize complex business and technology information into executive-ready materials, roadmap views, and recommendations that support decision-making and clearly communicate priorities, options, dependencies, risks, trade-offs, resource considerations, and expected business value.
Value realization: Establish success measures, key performance indicators, benefit hypotheses, adoption measures, and benefit realization plans for roadmap initiatives and operational improvements.
Change and adoption planning: Identify business readiness needs, change impacts, stakeholder impacts, training implications, adoption risks, and communication needs to support successful implementation.
Develop and refine future-state technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategy, business needs, and value creation opportunities through partnership with business and IT leaders.
Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, industry trends, and new ways of working that can improve business performance, customer experience, scalability, or resilience
Translate business strategies into actionable technology initiatives, capability maps, business cases, requirements, and implementation recommendations
Collaborate with enterprise architecture, solution delivery, cybersecurity, data, operations teams and cross functional business teams to ensure roadmap feasibility and enterprise alignment.
Synthesize complex business and technology information into executive-ready materials, roadmap views, and recommendations that support decision-making and clearly communicate priorities, options, dependencies, risks, trade-offs, resource considerations, and expected business value
Aligning diverse business priorities into a clear enterprise technology roadmap: This role must navigate competing needs, limited resources, operational constraints, and varying levels of stakeholder readiness to create a practical, value-driven roadmap that supports both near-term business operations and long-term strategic outcomes.
Translating innovation opportunities into responsible, measurable business value: This role must help business functions move from ideas and emerging technology interest to well-defined use cases, adoption plans, and measurable outcomes while balancing risk, data readiness, change impact, and enterprise standards.
Determine which business capability gaps, process improvements, system enhancements, or technology opportunities should be prioritized within the enterprise roadmap based on strategic alignment, business value, operational impact, risk, dependencies, and resource availability.
Decide whether a business need should be addressed through a process change, system enhancement, new technology capability, reporting improvement, or policy/operating model adjustment based on root cause, expected value, complexity, cost, and sustainability.

The requirements

A bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent
Minimum of 10 years of experience in business analysis, technology strategy, business transformation, process improvement, enterprise systems, or a related technology-enabled business role.
Demonstrated ability to understand business objectives, operating processes, system capabilities, data needs, and technology dependencies across multiple business functions.
Proven ability to elicit, document, validate, and prioritize business requirements, process flows, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Ability to translate business goals and pain points into practical technology opportunities, capability plans, roadmap recommendations, and prioritized initiatives.
Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with business leaders, subject matter experts, Technology teams, and cross-functional partners.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity, able to influence without direct authority, highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and focused on measurable business value
This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
