Job Overview:

Is responsible for leading the commercialization portfolio related to ingredient and packaging changes, regulatory-driven initiatives, business continuity programs, and international market expansion. The role establishes project priorities, commercialization strategies, and governance frameworks while ensuring successful execution across multiple concurrent initiatives.

This position provides leadership to commercialization team members, including the Assistant Manager, and serves as the primary liaison between Commercial, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Finance, and Operations to ensure strategic alignment and successful delivery of business objectives. The role is also responsible for translating portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities into executive-level insights, updates, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and organizational priorities

Key Responsibilities:

Own the portfolio of commercialization, component change, business continuity, and market expansion initiatives.
Establish priorities and resource allocation across projects.
Evaluate opportunities, risks, timing, and business impacts of initiatives.

Develop commercialization strategies supporting growth, compliance, and operational objectives.
Lead regulatory driven commercialization initiatives including ingredient substitutions, reformulations, packaging changes, labeling updates and compliance programs
Partner with Regulatory Affairs to assess business impacts of changing regulations
Develop implementation strategies that balance compliance, risk, supply continuity and business objectives
Drive risk mitigation and contingency planning activities
Lead commercialization strategies supporting international growth
Establish frameworks for market-entry execution and product adaptation
Ensure ingredient, packaging, labeling and specification requirements are addressed for target markets
Co-ordinate commercialization readiness activities across functions
Monitor progress against international launch objectives and timelines
Build a high-performing, engaged organization while actively role modeling company leadership expectations and values.
Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and function (including all direct report ‘people leaders’) accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
Ensure proper onboarding and development of all staff by completing induction process, coaching and developing capabilities, executing PDP start/mid-year dialogues and performance calibration, and engaging in corrective action when required
Participate in and develop succession plans adhering to the MDLZ STR process
Ensure an engaged workforce through strategic workforce planning and creation/execution of Employee Survey action plans
Lead by example upholding the values and holding others accountable for the same
Implement commercialization governance processes, stage-gate reviews, and reporting frameworks.
Develop portfolio dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and performance metrics.
Create and deliver executive-level updates that communicate portfolio status, key milestones, risks, resource requirements, financial impacts, and strategic recommendations.
Prepare materials and insights for leadership reviews, steering committees, and business update meetings.
Monitor project performance, risks, and resource utilization across the portfolio.
Ensure effective budget management and financial oversight.
Drive continuous improvement of commercialization tools, systems, reporting, and processes.

Recipe for Success:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Food Science, Marketing, Supply Chain, Project Management, Regulatory Affairs, or related discipline
6-10 years of experience in commercialization, product development, project management, innovation, regulatory affairs, or related functions within CPG, food, beverage, or manufacturing.
Experience leading complex cross-functional commercialization initiatives.
Demonstrated people leadership experience or significant leadership of matrix teams. Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong commercialization and portfolio management expertise.
Advanced project and program management capabilities.
Knowledge of ingredient, packaging, labeling, and specification management processes.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Experience building governance structures and performance metrics.
Excellent stakeholder management and influence skills.
Strong leadership and coaching capabilities.
Ability to lead through ambiguity and organizational change.
Knowledge of commercialization systems and project management platforms (Monday.com, SAP, PLM, Smartsheet, etc.).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
