Original job description
Founded in 2003, Glass Lewis is a leading global provider of independent, intelligence-focused corporate governance, stewardship, and proxy voting solutions. The firm serves more than 1,300 investment managers and pension funds globally, who use its high-quality corporate governance research and proxy voting software to carry out their fiduciary duties. Glass Lewis also helps companies understand corporate governance best practices and how investors view them. Headquartered in San Francisco, Glass Lewis has offices in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
In September 2026, Glass Lewis and Clarity AI joined forces to integrate sustainability, governance and stewardship. Glass Lewis looks for people who take ownership, act with integrity, remain curious, and make thoughtful decisions that build trust with clients and colleagues. To learn more, visit https://www.glasslewis.com/.
We are seeking entry-level Research Associates to support Corporate Governance, Quantitative and Executive Compensation research teams covering publicly listed U.S. and Canadian companies. You will review company disclosures, collect and verify data, and contribute to analysis of the board of directors, executive pay and their respective alignment with company performance and shareholder interests.
This posting covers opportunities for all three teams, with responsibilities depending on your team assignment. Comprehensive paid training is provided, and prior experience in corporate governance or executive compensation is not required. The role offers practical experience for candidates interested in research, finance, business, law, corporate governance or investor stewardship.
This is a temporary, full-time hybrid position running from February 8, 2027 through early to mid-June 2027, requiring regular in-office attendance (3 days per week; up to five during training weeks) at our downtown Toronto office.
Our Research Teams
Governance Research: The Corporate Governance Research team evaluates proposals for board of director elections, committee memberships, environmental and social issues, skills matrices, auditor appointments and more. Associates research, interpret and analyze company websites to collect data points to draft preliminary analysis on governance proposals under analyst supervision.
Quantitative Research: The Quantitative Research team provides the data and analysis that support assessments of executive pay relative to financial performance and shareholder returns. Associates collect, clean and verify compensation and financial data, use proprietary models and Microsoft Excel, investigate inconsistencies, and prepare preliminary pay-for-performance assessments under analyst supervision.
Executive Compensation: The Executive Compensation team evaluates executive pay levels, incentive program design, performance conditions and the quality of company disclosures. Associates research compensation practices, draft preliminary analysis and help develop voting recommendations on say-on-pay and compensation-related proposals under analyst supervision, applying Glass Lewis guidelines to each company’s circumstances.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Glass Lewis is committed to equity, fairness, and inclusion throughout our hiring process. We strive to build and retain a diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve. As an equal-opportunity employer, we are dedicated to creating an accessible environment in line with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). If you require accommodation at any point during the application or interview process, please let our Recruiting Team know.
Use of Artificial Intelligence: We use artificial intelligence tools to assist with screening and evaluating applications. All AI-generated assessments are reviewed by our hiring team before any final decisions are made.
Vacancy Status: This posting is for current, open positions within our organization.
