The role in a nutshell

Reporting to Supply Chain Canada’s tactical Procurement lead, the Buyer will be in charge of the daily buying activities for the category assigned supporting the Glencore operations in North America. In this role you will work collaboratively with each department to ensure the proper management of their requirements, ensuring de backlog is maintained against department objectives, increase policy awareness and improve transactional efficiencies. You will remain the primary point of contact for the various departments managing the products and services require to support ongoing operations..

More specifically, you will be expected to:

Using Coupa on a daily basis, maintain the quality of the views and related files, manage the timely review of requisitions, moving to purchase orders in a professional and timely manner.
Provide training for Coupa and the management of requisitions and transactions and the P2P and DOA policies.
When required, utilize the Category Leads who management the contracts for the goods and services in your portfolio who will negotiate and manage add-ons or changes to agreements with suppliers for Glencore’s benefit.
Be fluent in the Coupa P2P functionality
Be fluent in Glencore’s Policies and Procedures
Liaises with various departments to explain the buying processes
Liaise with current and prospective suppliers.
Be knowledgeable in the Coupa reporting functionality to be able to manage your requisitions daily all of which will support the monthly reporting requirements.
Be familiar with the Supply Chain Cananda structure allowing you to answer clarification questions clearly and with confidence.
Ability to manage multiple requirements, operating sites and projects, tasks, activities at once – prioritize and respond

Do you have what it takes?

Post – secondary education, with some experience working as a buyer,
materials management role, in an industrial environment.
A solid understanding ofP2P processes with a background in procurement .
Proficiency in both French and English, in written and spoken form, is required due to the diversity of our site and supplier base.
High degree of computer literacy including spreadsheets, word documents and presentations.
Experience working with an ERP, buying application, SAP, Coupa or Ariba.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a centralized team.
Ability to influence and manage change in a difficult environment.

Travel: visit to operating sites from time to time

Location: based in Laval. In office 5 days a week.

Relevant du responsable de l’approvisionnement tactique de la chaîne d’approvisionnement de Glencore Canada, l’Acheteur(se) sera responsable des activités quotidiennes d’approvisionnement pour la catégorie qui lui sera assignée afin de soutenir les opérations de Glencore en Amérique du Nord.

Vous demeurerez la personne-ressource principale pour les différents départements en ce qui concerne la gestion des produits et services nécessaires au soutien des opérations courantes.

Plus précisément, vous devrez :

Utiliser quotidiennement Coupa afin de maintenir la qualité des tableaux de suivi et des fichiers connexes, assurer l’examen rapide des demandes d’achat et les convertir en bons de commande de façon professionnelle et dans les délais requis.
Offrir de la formation sur Coupa ainsi que sur la gestion des demandes d’achat, des transactions et des politiques P2P (Purchase-to-Pay) et DOA (Delegation of Authority).
Au besoin, collaborer avec les responsables de catégorie qui gèrent les contrats relatifs aux biens et services de votre portefeuille, négocient les ajouts ou les modifications aux ententes avec les parties contractantes dans l’intérêt de Glencore.
Maîtriser les fonctionnalités P2P de Coupa.
Bien connaître les politiques et procédures de Glencore.
Collaborer avec divers départements pour expliquer les processus d’approvisionnement.
Entretenir des relations avec les partenaires actuels et potentiels.
Posséder une bonne connaissance des fonctionnalités de rapports de Coupa afin de gérer quotidiennement les demandes d’achat et de soutenir les exigences de production des rapports mensuels.
Comprendre la structure de la chaîne d’approvisionnement de Glencore Canada afin de répondre clairement et avec assurance aux demandes de clarification.
Être en mesure de gérer simultanément plusieurs exigences, sites d’exploitation, projets, tâches et activités, en établissant efficacement les priorités et en répondant avec diligence aux besoins.

Avez-vous le profil recherché?

Formation postsecondaire, accompagnée d’une expérience comme acheteur(se).
Expérience en gestion des matériaux ou dans un rôle similaire, dans un environnement industriel.
Bonne compréhension des processus P2P; une expérience en approvisionnement constitue un atout.
Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (à l’oral et à l’écrit), essentiel en raison de la diversité de nos sites d’exploitation et de nos fournisseurs.
Très bonne maîtrise des outils informatiques, en particulier des feuilles de calcul, les documents Word et les présentations.
Expérience avec un système ERP ou des applications d’approvisionnement telles que SAP, Coupa ou Ariba.
Excellentes aptitudes en communication écrite et orale.
Capacité à travailler au sein d’une équipe centralisée.
Capacité à influencer et à gérer le changement dans un environnement exigeant.

Lieu de travail

Poste basé à Laval. Présence requise au bureau cinq (5) jours par semaine.
