Job SummaryThis role focuses on designing easy-to-use, accessible, and client-focused experiences for the TD Mobile App - specifically its Self-Directed Investing capabilities across iOS and Android. The ideal candidate is a balanced product designer who can think strategically about user experience while delivering polished visual designs, and who brings a passion for creating simple, elegant experiences that help clients confidently manage and grow their investments.
Key Responsibilities- Design easy to use, accessible, and client-focused experiences for the TD Mobile App – Self-Directed Investing capabilities across iOS and Android
- Create both high-level experience concepts and detailed UI designs that align with product goals and platform standards
- Partner closely with product managers, researchers, content designers, and developers to define and deliver new features and enhancements
- Ensure designs are technically feasible and optimized for native mobile implementation
- Produce detailed specifications, prototypes, and design documentation to support successful delivery
- Leverage and contribute to the TD Mobile design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform
- Publish and maintain component libraries, patterns, and documentation in Figma
- Design for accessibility and ensure compliance with WCAG standards and evolving platform requirements
- Stay current with emerging mobile platform capabilities, accessibility standards, and industry best practices to help evolve the mobile experience
Required Skills- 3–5 years of experience in product design, UX and UI design, with expertise in native mobile applications (iOS and Android)
- Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end product experiences, from concept exploration through detailed interaction and visual design
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including wireframing, prototyping, component usage, and design documentation
- Experience working with and contributing to design systems for native mobile platforms
- Strong understanding of native iOS and Android design patterns, interaction models, and platform-specific guidelines
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in designing states, behaviors, transitions, and edge-case experiences
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, technology, and business partners in an agile environment
- Strong native mobile design experience across both iOS and Android
- A balanced product designer who can think strategically about user experience while delivering polished visual designs
- Experience working within established design systems, component libraries, and theming frameworks
- Ability to independently drive feature design from discovery and concepting through implementation and QA
- Passion for creating simple, elegant experiences that help clients confidently manage and grow their investments
- Availability to work on-site a minimum of 4 days a week
- Ability to communicate ideas to a diverse audience and constructively integrate feedback
- A conceptual thinker with proven problem-solving skills
- Comprehensive understanding of interaction and UI design
- Good fundamental understanding in Responsive Web design and Mobile Application design (Android and iOS)
- Proficiency with Adobe's Creative Suite (including After Effects to create animation, Adobe Illustrator)
- Proficiency with Figma
- Strong portfolio that showcases your understanding of user-centred design
- Banking knowledge
Preferred Skills- Experience working in complex digital product environments
- Personal experience or interest in investing, wealth management, or financial services
- General understanding in Agile Methodologies or experience working in an agile process
- General understanding of HTML/CSS (able to produce web-ready assets and designs)
- Skillsets to create high fidelity prototypes, user flow diagrams, and storyboards
