Spotfire Developer

Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid

• Pay Rate: C$60.00–C$80.00 / Hour (CAD)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours per week
• Travel Requirements: None; however, office leadership would like contractors to come to the office approximately 3 times per month

This is a Spotfire Developer engagement based in the Greater Toronto area. The role involves client interaction and targets candidates with 6–10 years of relevant analytics, BI, or consulting experience, including 6 years of hands-on TIBCO Spotfire development and administration.

• Lead end-to-end development of Spotfire dashboards and analytic applications, from requirements gathering through deployment and optimization.
• Design intuitive, high-impact data visualizations for executive and operational decision-making.
• Integrate Spotfire with relational databases, data warehouses, and other large-scale data sources.
• Develop and embed advanced analytics using Python, R, and IronPython, including data functions and statistical models.
• Optimize dashboard and server performance for high-volume datasets containing tens of millions of records.
• Implement Spotfire caching solutions for use within a business web application.
• Support, enhance, and troubleshoot production dashboards, including root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Partner with data engineering, ETL, IT, and business teams to ensure data accuracy, governance, and scalability.
• Support or lead Spotfire platform upgrades, environment evaluations, and enterprise administration activities as needed.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to analytics development standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Present insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong expertise in TIBCO Spotfire version 7.x or higher, including dashboards, data functions, automation, development, and administration.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for advanced analytics and dashboard integration.
• Strong SQL and database knowledge.
• Experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions in a client-facing or consulting environment.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.

• Enterprise data warehouse experience.

• 6–10 years of relevant analytics, BI, or consulting experience, including 6 years of hands-on TIBCO Spotfire development and administration.

• Two-round interview process with the internal team.
• Candidates must be able to work effectively in a client-facing environment and should be available to start quickly.
