This role has end-to-end responsibility for core IT operations, including corporate systems, device management, office infrastructure, cybersecurity tools, SaaS administration, vendor relationships, telecommunications, and the overall IT budget. Working closely with the VP of Technology, the Cloud team, and Privacy and business leaders, this role balances day-to-day operational needs with longer-term improvements to security, scalability, governance, and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a small IT team, balancing priorities with hands-on support.
  • Build a responsive, service-oriented culture aligned with business needs.
  • Partner with Technology and Privacy leaders to align IT operations, security, and governance with compliance standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve tech challenges, manage risk, and drive key initiatives.
  • Communicate technical risks and recommendations clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

IT Budget & Vendor Management

  • Manage the annual IT budget, covering licensing, hardware, telecom, and vendor costs.
  • Oversee key IT vendors, contracts, renewals, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Consolidate tools and simplify the technology environment to maximize investment value.
  • Maintain IT policies, standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Provide leadership and escalation support for major IT incidents.

Corporate Technology & End-User Support

  • Oversee IT support and operations for corporate offices and staff.
  • Manage device lifecycles, including purchasing, deployment, and disposal.
  • Streamline onboarding and offboarding access and provisioning.
  • Maintain asset inventory and provide responsive end-user support.

Google Workspace, Identity & SaaS Administration

  • Own administration and security for Google Workspace settings, users, and permissions.
  • Support IAM and Azure SSO in partnership with the Cloud team.
  • Administer corporate SaaS platforms and access control standards.
  • Optimize SaaS configuration and license usage with business owners.

Field Tablet, Mobile Device & Telecommunications Management

  • Oversee the fleet of ~1,000 field tablets, managing procurement, deployment, inventory, and lifecycle strategies.
  • Manage MDM, SIM cards, cellular plans, carriers, and telecom costs while maintaining controls for field technology.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure device availability and minimize field disruptions.

Office Infrastructure & Connectivity

  • Oversee corporate networking, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and internet connectivity across the Toronto and St. Catharine's offices.
  • Manage telecom vendors and ensure network redundancy, recovery, and prompt issue resolution.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Data Governance

  • Manage core cybersecurity, including endpoints, network, firewalls, and identity access.
  • Oversee key platforms such as CrowdStrike and Varonis, monitor security health, and coordinate risk remediation.
  • Administer Varonis to support data governance, monitoring corporate data access and remediating improper, excessive, or outdated permissions.
  • Support the VP of Technology with PCI DSS compliance, security assessments, and audits, including evidence gathering, control documentation, and remediation tracking.
  • Ensure corporate IT processes and technologies operate in accordance with applicable security and compliance requirements.
  • Partner internally and externally on incidents, audits, and security improvements.

What You Bring to the Role

The successful candidate creates an IT environment that employees can depend on and leadership can trust: assets are well managed, connectivity is reliable, security controls are effective, costs are understood, and issues are addressed before they become larger operational problems.
