The Company

Globe 24-7 is currently working with an innovative mining drilling consumables supplier for a Business Development Manager. This opportunity is focused on Western Canada and will lead regional growth across key mining basins, contractor networks, and major producing operations.

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding market share across Western Canada through a combination of strategic sales leadership, technical field engagement, and key account development. The role is suited to a commercially driven mining professional with strong knowledge of drilling applications and a proven ability to convert field trials into long-term supply agreements.

The Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develop and execute regional growth plans focused on priority mining basins across Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Saskatchewan
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with mining contractors, open-pit and underground mining companies, and strategic distribution partners throughout Western Canada
Drive sales of drilling consumables with a particular emphasis on Tricone Bits, Down-the-Hole hammers and bits, and Top Hammer tools
Position products against established international brands by demonstrating a strong balance of drilling performance, cost-per-meter savings, local stock availability, and dependable delivery
Conduct regular field travel including mine site visits, pit inspections, bit-wear assessments, and technical presentations to strengthen pipeline development and customer engagement
Gather and assess market intelligence including competitor pricing, bit life benchmark data, stock positioning, and tender schedules to support commercial planning and market penetration
Coordinate internally on commercial terms, pricing frameworks, volume structures, and consignment inventory support for strategic regional accounts
Plan, execute, and supervise on-site product trials, monitoring drilling performance, penetration rates, operating hours, and wear outcomes under active mine conditions
Work closely with mine superintendents, drilling engineers, maintenance teams, and procurement stakeholders to recommend fit-for-purpose product configurations based on geology, wear patterns, carbide grades, tooth design, and air flushing requirements
Prepare detailed total cost-per-meter reports to validate trial performance, support product substitution strategies, and convert successful trials into recurring commercial contracts across multi-pit operations
Lead tender submissions, commercial proposals, and contract negotiations, while building structured account plans for key customers based on demand potential, qualification standards, competitor share, and long-term contract opportunities
Coordinate with technical, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to relay field feedback into product improvement and ensure reliable stock supply to remote mining operations

Qualifications

Minimum five (5+) years of business development, technical sales, or related commercial experience in mining consumables, rotary drilling tools, heavy equipment, or mining services within Canada
Demonstrated success selling to mining companies, drilling contractors, and industrial distributors
Strong understanding of mining procurement processes, product qualification requirements, site trial methodologies, and tender response development
Deep familiarity with surface mining drilling applications including Rotary Tricone, DTH, and Top Hammer systems
Direct technical understanding of bit wear, drilling performance, and field optimization is strongly preferred
Proven ability to open new territories, establish credibility with operational stakeholders, and convert technical evaluations into long-term supply contracts
Sound commercial judgment across pricing strategy, margin management, consignment inventory, and credit considerations
Ability to collaborate effectively with international product engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams
Fluent professional English is required, with French strongly preferred
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, willingness to travel extensively across Western Canada, and legal authorization to work in Canada are required

The Rewards

The position offers a competitive remuneration package with a base salary target between $100,000 - $120,000/yr with an additional 2% commission on applicable sales. Benefits and vacation allotment are also a part of the overall package.
