Software Engineering Manager
📍 Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
💰 CAD $165,000 Base Salary
I'm currently working with an innovative technology company that's building large-scale software solutions used in mission-critical environments. They're looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of 10-12 engineers in their Vancouver office.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-12 software engineers
- Drive technical strategy and delivery across complex software platforms
- Partner with architects and senior leadership on system design and engineering best practices
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical decision-making
- Help modernize development processes, tooling, and CI/CD practices
- Hire, onboard, and grow engineering talent as the team continues to scale
What They're Looking For:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience
- Strong technical background with both C++ and C#
- Experience building and supporting large-scale applications, APIs, or distributed systems
- Strong understanding of software architecture, Agile development, and modern engineering practices
- Ability to balance technical leadership with people management
Nice to Have:
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices
- Background in IoT, embedded systems, hardware-integrated software, or real-time applications
