Our client, a well-established and highly respected insurance organization, is seeking an accomplished Assistant Vice President, Business Solutions, Technology & Operations to join its senior leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, forward-thinking technology leader to play an influential role in shaping the organization's business and technology landscape. Working closely with executive leadership, you will help establish strategic direction, advance enterprise-wide transformation, modernize business operations and identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and Microsoft Copilot.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will bring together business strategy, technology, digital innovation and operational excellence to deliver solutions that support organizational growth, enhance efficiencies and strengthen the overall customer experience.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Strategic Leadership & Enterprise Transformation
Partner with executive leadership to shape and execute the organization's technology and operational strategy.
Lead enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, innovation and overall business performance.
Identify and champion opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and Microsoft Copilot.
Provide strategic advice and recommendations on technology investments, business solutions and operational improvements.
Influence organizational priorities and drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Technology Strategy & Business Solutions
Provide strategic oversight of business applications, digital platforms, websites and enterprise technology solutions.
Lead application development, system enhancements, integrations and digital initiatives that support business objectives.
Oversee API strategies and third-party software integrations to ensure seamless connectivity across business systems.
Guide the evolution of SharePoint and enterprise collaboration platforms to improve knowledge sharing and operational effectiveness.
Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to create measurable business value.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Governance
Provide leadership and oversight in strengthening cybersecurity practices, technology controls and risk management frameworks.
Ensure technology initiatives align with regulatory, compliance, security and governance requirements.
Support enterprise-wide business continuity, data protection and technology risk management initiatives.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain a secure and resilient technology environment.
Enterprise Project Management & Operational Excellence
Provide executive oversight of strategic technology and business transformation initiatives from planning through implementation.
Establish project governance, prioritization frameworks, resource allocation and accountability.
Drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness across departments.
Champion best practices in project management, change management, business analysis and solution delivery.
Strategic Vendor & Partner Management
Build and maintain strategic relationships with technology vendors, consultants, software providers and external partners.
Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, service-level agreements and performance management.
Ensure external partners deliver innovation, value, security and operational excellence.
Executive Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of technology professionals, business analysts and project managers.
Build strong relationships across the organization, influencing stakeholders and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Establish clear performance expectations, development plans and succession strategies.
Promote an inclusive, collaborative and accountable working environment.
Serve as a visible and approachable leader who inspires confidence, encourages innovation and drives results.
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- University degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across technology, business solutions, operations, digital transformation or enterprise project management.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior technology leadership role, ideally within the insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of the business and technology landscape within insurance, financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience overseeing business applications, software development, websites, digital platforms and enterprise integrations.
- Knowledge of APIs, SharePoint, collaboration technologies and third-party software solutions.
- Understanding of emerging AI technologies, including Microsoft Copilot and enterprise productivity solutions.
- Experience with cybersecurity, technology governance, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management.
- Proven ability to lead complex, enterprise-wide initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building and vendor management capabilities.
- Experience with Agile, Lean, change management and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
