Original job description

The Role, Integrations Engineer I
- this role is based for applicants located in Canada

SiteDocs, a GoCanvas company, is a leading provider of digital safety management software, trusted by thousands of teams to modernize and simplify workplace health and safety across construction, engineering, infrastructure, logistics, and beyond. We’re the highest-rated EHS platform on Gartner-owned Capterra, empowering field teams and safety leaders to replace paperwork, boost compliance, and drive real-time visibility where it matters most.

SiteDocs is part of the Nemetschek Group - a publicly traded European software company with a multi-billion-euro market capitalisation. The group brings together more than 15 specialised brands, including GoCanvas, Bluebeam, FirmusAI, Nevaris, AllPlan, VectorWorks, and SpaceWell, serving customers across the full AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Operations) spectrum. Together, we’re shaping a smarter, safer, and more sustainable built world.

Position Overview:

The Integrations Engineer I will entail transforming customer requirements into complete solutions - including custom, code-based integrations when pre-built connectors aren't enough - that increase the value our customers derive from our products. There will be numerous opportunities to grow your integration expertise, contribute to best practices, and collaborate with more senior team members.

Your Most Important Initiatives:

Architect and build robust API-based integrations connecting our core product with third-party systems (e.g. QuickBooks, Salesforce, NetSuite) to solve complex customer requirements.
Build custom, code-based integrations from scratch using REST/SOAP APIs and scripting languages when off-the-shelf connectors don't meet the requirement.
Design and implement webhook-driven, event-based workflows that ensure reliable, real-time data synchronization across systems.
Configure and secure API authentication (e.g. OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT) to protect customer data across all integrations.
Build resilient error-handling, retry, and idempotency logic so integrations recover gracefully from failures at scale.
Test, debug, and validate integrations using tools such as Postman to ensure solutions perform reliably before deployment.
Deliver projects on time and within scope, proactively communicating status, roadblocks, and risks to the team.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, escalating to senior team members when necessary.
Champion integration best practices and contribute to documentation standards that scale across the team.

What You Bring:

1-3 years of experience working with APIs across multiple products
1-3 years of experience in a scripting language (e.g. JavaScript, Python, Ruby)
Experience building custom integrations from the ground up when pre-built or off-the-shelf connectors aren't available
Ability to write custom scripts and code to extend, bridge, or transform functionality between disconnected systems
Experience with API authentication protocols (e.g. OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT)
Experience building or consuming webhooks and event-driven integrations
Working knowledge of REST/SOAP web services and JSON/XML data formats, including data mapping and transformation
Understanding of error handling, retry logic, and idempotency in integration workflows
Experience with API testing/debugging tools (e.g. Postman)
Basic SQL/database knowledge for data mapping and troubleshooting
Experience with version control tools such as Git
Understanding of API rate limiting and pagination handling
Ability to juggle competing priorities
Strong communication skills
Attention to detail
Goal and results oriented
Optimistic with a value-added mindset
Proactive and easily adaptable
Strong sense of ownership with a high aptitude for translating customer business requirements into results

Why Join Us?

Join a mission-driven team focused on proactive customer success and long-term partnership. You'll collaborate with supportive colleagues, impact business growth, and play a critical role in ensuring our customers thrive with GoCanvas & SiteDocs solutions.

Our success is rooted in a wonderfully wholesome culture, best defined by our four overarching values:

Authentic Relationships - People are never a means to an end.

Continuous Learning - Test every assumption and never stay stagnant.

Interdependence - We build systems that require everyone to perform with excellence, we are a team, and we succeed or fail together.

Data Driven Decisions - Because wisdom requires understanding the facts of the matter, disputes between competing perspectives are resolved with data.

If you have any questions about your personal data privacy at SiteDocs, please visit our privacy page.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. If you need special assistance or accommodation while seeking employment with us, please email recruiting@gocanvas.com or call: (703) 547-8588. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in Canada. However, we are not able to sponsor visas.

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance (medical, dental & vision), life insurance, 401(k) & paid time off. The expected base salary range for this position is about $108,400 - $126,500 CAD. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.

This role is a opportunity.
