Original job description

Put your technical troubleshooting skills to work testing, repairing, and supporting the electronic systems that help keep Gogo products performing at their best.

At Gogo, we're transforming how people connect in the sky. Our manufacturing teams play an important role in delivering reliable products by testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and continuously improving the equipment behind our connectivity solutions.

As our Test Technician, you'll support production and RMA activities through testing, debugging, minor assembly, configuration, and repair of electronic equipment. You'll work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and cross-functional teams to support product quality, production targets, customer needs, and the introduction of new products into manufacturing.

If you're someone who enjoys hands-on technical problem solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to quality and continuous improvement, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Set up hardware, software, and standard test equipment to perform comprehensive system- and sub-level testing
  • Configure system software based on specific testing requirements
  • Test and analyze electronic equipment, systems, and subsystems using electronic test instruments including multimeters, circuit testers, thermal chambers, spectrum analyzers, and power meters
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment at the system and CCA level, document detailed fault findings, and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Generate detailed test and test-failure reports and document defective components in the RMA Repair Database
  • Perform rework and repairs of system assemblies and components in accordance with manufacturing and repair documentation
  • Perform testing and assembly of electronic and mechanical components in FOD-free and ESD-safe environments
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve testing issues, support customer needs, and provide technical input on manufacturability and serviceability
  • Support production and RMA activities to help achieve OTTR, PPM, FPY, monthly build quantity, and floor-defect targets
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives through completion
  • Contribute to successful new product introduction (NPI) activities and manufacturing readiness efforts

What You'll Bring

  • Electrical Engineering Technician diploma, Electronics Technician diploma, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and reworking electronic systems, assemblies, and components
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Experience following structured manufacturing, repair, and quality processes
  • Ability to complete required training and adhere to operational, quality, health, and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working within an AS9100 quality management system or similar regulated manufacturing environment

Even Better If You Have

You Don't Need To Check Every Box Below. If You Bring Experience In Some Of These Areas, We'd Especially Like To Hear From You

  • Prior experience testing embedded systems
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based ERP and PLM systems
  • Experience working with Linux-based operating environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience performing Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
  • Experience supporting avionics, aerospace, telecommunications, or other highly regulated industries
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards
  • Knowledge of IPC-7711/7721 standards for electronic assembly rework and repair
  • Experience supporting manufacturing process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
