Original job description
Regional Business Development Manager
British Columbia (Lower Mainland)
$60,000 – $120,000 base + commissions
Our client a well-established, growing design-build company specializing in building construction is adding a Regional Business Development Manager to their British Columbia location. This role is for a true hunter: someone who builds their own pipeline, wins new projects from first conversation through to contract, and wants a direct line to ownership as the business grows across Western Canada.
What you’ll do
- Generate and close new business for commercial, industrial, agricultural and institutional building projects across BC, typically $1M–$5M in value
- Build relationships with general contractors, developers, owners and design professionals in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island and the Interior
- Track upcoming projects and get in early to influence scope, design and building selection
- Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, site visits, scoping, proposals, pricing, negotiation and close
- Work closely with estimating, engineering and project teams to make sure proposals are accurate and margins are protected
- Travel across the province 30–50% of the time to meet clients and visit sites
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in the CRM
What you bring
- 5+ years of B2B business development or sales experience in commercial, industrial or institutional construction, building products, steel or a related field
- A proven record of self-generating new business and closing longer-cycle, higher-value deals
- An established network of BC general contractors, developers or owners (strong asset)
- Comfort with project pricing, margins and construction contract terms
- A self-starter who thrives in an outbound, boots-on-the-ground role
- A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel regularly across BC

Requirements
