About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established, growing organization specializing in advanced industrial and engineered solutions. With a strong reputation for technical expertise, quality manufacturing, and innovation, the company serves a diverse range of industrial and infrastructure markets.

As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to support a dynamic manufacturing operation in British Columbia.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with plant leadership and employees while balancing day-to-day HR responsibilities with broader strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will play an important role in employee relations, compliance, engagement, performance management, payroll support, benefits administration, and workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Support

Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, benefits, compensation, workplace concerns, and general HR matters.
Manage employee relations matters and conduct investigations, providing recommendations and appropriate resolutions.
Support performance management processes, including performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and employee development initiatives.
Provide guidance to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

Payroll, HRIS & Benefits

Support payroll administration through ADP Workforce Now, including employee data management, payroll processing, time and attendance coordination, and payroll accuracy.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information within the HRIS.
Conduct regular HRIS audits and ensure employee records and documentation are maintained appropriately.
Administer employee benefits programs, including health benefits, RRSP programs, and leave management.
Coordinate and process various leaves of absence, including medical and personal leaves.

Employee Engagement & Retention

Develop and support employee engagement initiatives designed to strengthen morale, retention, and workplace culture.
Manage onboarding activities for new employees and conduct exit interviews.
Analyze employee feedback, turnover, absenteeism, and other workforce trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide HR insights and recommendations to leadership to support data-driven workforce decisions.

Compliance & Workplace Safety

Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Canadian and British Columbia employment legislation and regulations.
Maintain knowledge of the BC Employment Standards Act, WorkSafeBC requirements, occupational health and safety standards, Human Rights Code, and workplace accommodation requirements.
Partner with Operations and Safety teams to support workplace safety initiatives, training, and compliance programs.
Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
Support workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes.

Talent Acquisition

Provide support to the Talent Acquisition team as required.
Assist with recruitment activities, including candidate coordination, interview scheduling, onboarding, and other hiring initiatives.
Partner with leadership to understand workforce requirements and support talent planning.

Compensation & Performance

Support annual compensation review processes, merit increases, and other compensation initiatives.
Assist leaders with performance management and employee development programs.
Monitor workforce data and trends to support organizational planning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years within a manufacturing, industrial, production, or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, occupational health and safety requirements, and workplace safety practices.
Solid understanding of Canadian and British Columbia employment legislation and HR best practices.
Experience managing employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations.
Experience with full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition processes.
Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with both employees and leadership in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

CPHR designation or equivalent professional HR certification.
Experience supporting a multi-site manufacturing organization.
Background in industrial, automotive, aerospace, engineered products, or a similar technical manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organization where HR is closely aligned with Operations.

They will have the confidence to work directly with employees and plant leadership, strong knowledge of Canadian HR practices, and the ability to manage both day-to-day HR requirements and longer-term workforce initiatives.
