Role Description This full-time, on-site Interior Designer role is based in North York, ON. The Interior Designer will develop design concepts, create mood boards, and prepare presentations that reflect client needs and project objectives. Daily responsibilities include space planning, selecting finishes and materials, coordinating FF&E, and preparing detailed drawings and documentation in collaboration with architects and construction teams. The role involves meeting with clients to understand their requirements, presenting design solutions, and revising plans based on feedback. The Interior Designer will also support project coordination, ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards, and contribute to a cohesive, high-quality design vision across multiple residential and commercial projects.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interior Design and Space Planning skills to create functional, aesthetic layouts for residential and commercial projects.
- Candidates should possess Architecture and Construction Drawings skills to develop accurate plans, details, and documentation for project execution.
- Candidates should possess FF&E skills to select and coordinate furniture, fixtures, and equipment that align with design concepts and budgets.
- Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) is highly beneficial.
- Strong visual presentation, material selection, and color coordination abilities are preferred.
- Excellent communication, client-facing, and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; professional certifications or registration are an asset.
- Experience with local building codes, accessibility standards, and construction processes in Ontario is advantageous.
