About Grandview Kids

Grandview Kids provides an array of specialized programs, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinical treatments to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs. Programs and services – which are delivered at the Centre, in the community, at schools, and in-home – include: medical consultation, assessment, and diagnosis; audiology, autism support; complex care program; occupational therapy; physiotherapy; respite services; social work; speech-language pathology; therapeutic recreation; and family engagement. Grandview Kids actively participates in research to support innovation in rehabilitation science, to advance organizational capabilities, and to better serve caregivers and the developmental needs of their children and adolescents. Grandview Kids is now accepting applications for the position of:

Occupational Therapist (Contract Full-Time) – 2 Positions

Contract Full-Time (1FTE) – 37.5 hours
Salary: $37.94 - $47.91 per hour, depending upon experience
Contract Duration: October 2026 – June 30^th, 2027
Onsite/In Person

Under the general direction of the Clinical Manager, the Occupational Therapist completes an assessment of clients referred for occupational therapy service and identifies problem areas; establishes written treatment goals and plans to address client problem areas (which may include use of Applied Behaviour Analysis Principles and Strategies); provides direct and indirect client care in accordance with the treatment plan; evaluates the impact of occupational therapy intervention on identified problems; maintains communication with all other team members regarding client care; participates with other organizations within the community; documents occupational therapy involvement in client care; oversees activities in the occupational therapy area which may be carried out by the Therapy Assistant; ensures that the environment of the occupational therapy treatment area meets client’s needs; maintains clinical competence; maintains communication with all other staff members; supports departmental/Centre efforts in Quality Management activities, as required; participates in education, orientation and public relations, as required; maintains a safe work environment; performs designated administrative duties; performs other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
Registration with College of Occupational Therapists
2 years’ experience in a related (paediatric) clinical setting
Knowledge of occupational therapy assessment and treatment principles related to paediatrics.
Knowledge of home renovations, complex equipment, and transition to adult services required.
Knowledge of equipment, adaptive devices and standardized tests.
ADP Authorizer or eligible preferred
Well-developed communication skills including verbal, non-verbal, negotiation, presentation and listening skills.
Specialized knowledge of paediatric disabilities (e.g. Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Knowledge and experience in implementing principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis an asset
Experience supporting children with sensory processing difficulties
Strong consultation and conceptual analysis skills
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to set priorities and time management
Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams
Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle, or appropriate transportation.
Bilingual (French) is an asset

This position is a member of the bargaining unit which is represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, and as such will be bound under the terms of the collective agreement.

OT’s at Grandview Kids work in a variety of programs and this is an opportunity to be a part of an established multidisciplinary team who provide the highest quality of holistic and family centered services.
