Project Manager

Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract (Minimum 12 months) | Vancouver, BC

Gravity Union is looking for our newest Project Manager! This is a full-time (40 hours/week) contract position based primarily at our office in the heart of downtown Vancouver. As a growing organization supporting clients across Canada, opportunities for extension or future employment may be available based on business needs.

About the Opportunity

At Gravity Union, we empower organizations to take control of their critical information with people-focused solutions. We’re looking for our newest Project Manager to support our Delivery team across a variety of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, AI, and records management projects.

A Gravity Union Project Manager works closely with the project team and is responsible for the management, planning, execution, organizing, relationship-building and administration of a project to ensure a high level of performance and quality. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring our teams are set up for success.

The ideal candidate understands the pace and complexity of a consulting environment. You're comfortable balancing multiple priorities, keeping projects on track, facilitating productive conversations, and maintaining strong client relationships. You enjoy bringing structure to ambiguity and helping teams work together to achieve successful outcomes.

You are a proactive communicator, a collaborative problem solver, and someone who enjoys learning and adapting in a fast-moving environment. If your friends and colleagues describe you as organized, dependable, curious, and calm under pressure, we'd love to hear from you.

The expected base range salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000, but remains flexible depending on the candidate’s unique skills and experience. The determination of a candidate’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits program.

As a Project Manager, your day-to-day includes:

Leading the full project lifecycle - from planning and discovery through implementation and close-out
Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
Effectively setting and maintaining client expectations based on project requirements and our statement of work
Facilitating effective and engaging client and internal meetings
Tracking project progress and proactively managing risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies
Ability to facilitate difficult conversations regarding project scope, schedule, budget, and risks and issues management to various teams and individuals
Collaborating with our Sales team with proposal development, scoping and estimations
Coordinating scheduling and supporting with various deliverables
Facilitating regular check-ins with the client and with the internal project team
Providing timely and accurate project updates and invoices to key stakeholders
Supporting the escalation of issues to appropriate owners
Building, maintaining, growing any business relationships, and identifying any potential future opportunities for additional work and long term value
Contributing to a high performance team culture that prioritizes learning, results, collaboration, and a shared commitment to delivering long-term value
Supporting internal organization initiatives and professional development opportunities
Staying up to date with relevant technologies, certifications, and industry best practices while proactively sharing your findings with team members

Are you the one?

A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, etc.
3 -5+ years working experience with IT, digital transformation, or cloud services (ex: Microsoft 365, and SharePoint projects) or equivalent (records management project experience strongly preferred)
PMP certification required
Experience delivering projects within a consulting, professional services, or client services environment strongly preferred
A solid understanding of project management methodologies and delivery best practices
Strong client management and communication skills
Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools (ex: Microsoft Planner)
You love to bring people together and you know how to facilitate effective meetings
You’re adaptable and able to go with the flow when things change
You love to learn new things and learning excites you
You know how to have fun!

Icing on the cake

Working experience with Enterprise Content Management and/or records management systems
Change management certification or training (ex: Prosci, CCMP, or equivalent)
Knowledge of compliance, regulatory, or records management requirements
Microsoft certifications such as MS-900, MS-401, or related credentials
Experience working with public sector or organizations in highly regulated industries
