- Interpret and validate preliminary design criteria based on project objectives, production targets, and product requirements.
- Lead early-stage engineering and multidisciplinary concept development in collaboration with EPC project management, process engineering, and operations teams.
- Develop key technical deliverables, including process flow diagrams, conceptual layouts, and equipment lists, in collaboration with the design team.
- Ensure designs align with operational requirements, project objectives, Graymont standards, applicable codes, and lessons learned.

- Review vendor drawings and technical submittals for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with the approved design intent.
Education & Professional Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; at least seven years of progressively responsible design engineering experience; and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence or equivalent.
Technology Requirements: Advanced proficiency in CAD software and related engineering tools.
Skills & Competencies
- Extensive experience in material handling, equipment sizing, and processing plant design, preferably in the cement or lime industry.
- Strong knowledge of engineering codes and standards, supported by sound technical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership, team-building, coaching, and people-development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage a demanding workload, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience leading major multidisciplinary engineering design packages.
