Original job description

WHO WE ARE

GreenShield is a proudly Canadian, national non-profit health care and insurance organization, driven by our mission of Better Health for All. We believe health care is a right, not a privilege, and we are committed to improving health outcomes, advancing health equity, and building a future where every Canadian can reach their full health and well-being potential.

Through our unique integrated payer-provider ("payvider") model, we offer insurance, administer benefits, and pay claims as a ‘payer’ while offering health care services such as mental health, pharmacy, telemedicine, and chronic disease management as a ‘provider’. As a non-profit social enterprise without shareholders, we reinvest our excess earnings to directly support underserved communities. Through GreenShield Cares, we positively impacted the health and well-being of over one million Canadians between 2020 and 2025. What’s driving us now is the commitment to measurably impact an additional three million Canadians by 2030 – across mental health, essential medicines, and chronic disease management – through scalable initiatives that deliver meaningful change in pursuit of our mission of Better Health for All.

At GreenShield, our culture is where purpose meets passion and performance. Our teams work as one to deliver meaningful, measurable impact for the people and communities we serve.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Reporting to the Vice President of Product, you will lead product strategy for our GreenShield’s Insurance product portfolio. You’ll partner with product teams across our Health and Insurance portfolio to drive outcomes that matter and deliver integrated experiences across our products to achieve out payer-provider strategy.

Responsibilities:

Define the strategic direction for our insurance product portfolio comprised of member, employer, advisor and internal stakeholders
Develop the Insurance product roadmap that is consistent with the GreenShield’s overall strategies and maintain a vision for the future of the platform.
Lead and guide the Product Managers in aligning the insurance product development with GreenShield’s vision and strategic goals.
Work with Insurance Product Specialists to ensure seamless information sharing across product functions.
Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, and Cloud Services teams.
Support operations, marketing and sales with the creation and delivery of product demonstrations, collateral and communication of future vision and roadmap.
Engage with customers, partners, and stakeholders to understand evolving requirements and lead partnership discussions to enhance GreenShield’s product offerings
Lead cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle, balancing speed to market with risk management.
Oversee product-related training, including presentations and demos.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

10+ years of product management experience; preferably some experience managing mobile products.
2-5+ years of people management experience and leading Product Management teams
Experience working in an Agile environment and a commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
Experience working on a platform product with multiple product integrations. Experience in Health and Dental, Disability Management, Healthcare, or Benefits Administration
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet challenging goals.
Able to form strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, thrive in ambiguity.
Comfortable working with all levels of the organization – especially senior executives.
A strong people leader with demonstrated experience motivating and coaching teams.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of conveying complex issues clearly and influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong influencing skills to engage senior leadership and partners.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Comprehensive understanding of product management, encompassing operational readiness, customer support, product operations, and analytics.
Strong quantitative and qualitative skills; ability to make data-driven decisions and build strong business cases to drive recommendations for action.
A strong systems thinker with the ability to understand the full customer journey and the integrations required across a product portfolio.

Ability to build and grow high-performing teams.
Ability to travel (up to 15% of time for client discussion, industry events)
