Original job description

WHO WE ARE

When it comes to health, we’re always looking for ways to push for better. It’s why we were founded in the first place.

In 1957, our founder, pharmacist William Wilkinson, witnessed a mother sacrifice her own health by forgoing her medication to pay for her sick daughter’s prescription. He knew there had to be a better way. So, he introduced North America’s first prepaid drug plan, and GreenShield was born as a not-for-profit with a mission to support better health for all Canadians.

Today, we’re more than a health and benefits company. We’re a not-for-profit social enterprise bringing coverage and care together in one place to help Canadians live healthier lives.

We’re noble challengers who believe there’s always a better way, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help us build it.

Our mission is to create better health for all Canadians, and we know that starts with our employees.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Base Salary: CAD $75,000 - $93,000

We’re looking for a QA Software Tester II who is passionate about delivering seamless, reliable digital experiences. In this role, you’ll play an important part in ensuring the quality of our web and mobile applications, combining hands-on manual testing with automation to identify issues early, strengthen our development processes, and help us deliver technology our users can trust.

If you enjoy digging into how applications work, uncovering issues before users do, and collaborating with developers to continuously improve software quality, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Perform manual and automated testing across web and mobile applications to ensure quality, stability, and performance.
Test mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, identifying opportunities to improve the user experience.
Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track defects through resolution.
Create and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing scenarios across functional, regression, and UI testing.
Partner closely with developers and other cross-functional team members to investigate defects, improve test coverage, and embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Appium, Cypress, and JavaScript.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA practices, tools, and processes to help our teams deliver high-quality software more efficiently.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’re a detail-oriented and curious QA professional who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in delivering high-quality digital experiences. You’re comfortable balancing manual and automated testing and enjoy working collaboratively in an Agile environment.

You bring:

2+ years of experience in software quality assurance, ideally testing both mobile and web applications.
Hands-on experience with Appium, Cypress, and JavaScript for test automation.
Strong experience with manual testing, including functional, regression, and UI testing.
Experience testing mobile applications across iOS and Android.
A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Experience working with QA and development tools such as JIRA and TestRail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers and cross-functional partners.
A continuous improvement mindset and a genuine passion for software quality and creating great user experiences.

THE CULTURE

We believe a career should be meaningful. Not just a means to earn a living. Our culture is one where everyone's voice is heard and valued. Because that’s what it takes to create better health for all. We dare to challenge the status quo. And we’re driven by people who have challenged theirs. We believe that your workplace should empower you to be the best version of yourself. That’s why we provide a place where you can be inspired, challenged, and rewarded.

Where your growth means our growth.

Where your voice is heard and valued.

Where your work has purpose. And purpose matters.

We believe our people are critical to our overall success. Inclusivity makes us a stronger, smarter and more informed organization. Being intentionally inclusive of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences will enhance our company culture to positively impact how we support our communities. A career at GreenShield isn’t just about personal achievements, it's about making a difference together.

Here’s to Better Health for All!
