Original job description

WHO WE ARE

GreenShield is a proudly Canadian, national non-profit health care and insurance organization, driven by our mission of Better Health for All. We believe health care is a right, not a privilege, and we are committed to improving health outcomes, advancing health equity, and building a future where every Canadian can reach their full health and well-being potential.

Through our unique integrated payer-provider ("payvider") model, we offer insurance, administer benefits, and pay claims as a ‘payer’ while offering health care services such as mental health, pharmacy, telemedicine, and chronic disease management as a ‘provider’. As a non-profit social enterprise without shareholders, we reinvest our excess earnings to directly support underserved communities. Through GreenShield Cares, we positively impacted the health and well-being of over one million Canadians between 2020 and 2025. What’s driving us now is the commitment to measurably impact an additional three million Canadians by 2030 – across mental health, essential medicines, and chronic disease management – through scalable initiatives that deliver meaningful change in pursuit of our mission of Better Health for All.

At GreenShield, our culture is where purpose meets passion and performance. Our teams work as one to deliver meaningful, measurable impact for the people and communities we serve.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

This role will be responsible for:

  • Build scalable measurement practices that help GreenShield assess performance, outcomes, and impact across its portfolio.
  • Develop clear, evidence-based insights for internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate impact.
  • Partner cross-functionally to embed analytics and outcome measures into planning, decision-making, client insights, and performance management.
  • Use data-driven insights to support better experiences, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Provide thought leadership on data quality, governance, privacy, responsible AI, and scalable analytics practices, working closely with Technology and enterprise data teams to ensure the right data foundations are in place.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team that combines analytical depth, business judgment, storytelling, and a practical orientation toward measurable outcomes.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 15+ years of progressive analytics experience in health care, benefits, insurance, consulting, or a related field, including senior leadership accountability for analytics, insight generation, and business impact.
  • Proven ability to turn data into insight, insight into action, and action into measurable business, customer, and health outcomes.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into simple, credible, executive-ready narratives for internal leaders, clients, partners, and external audiences.
  • Business-oriented analytics leader who can ask the right questions, define the right measures, challenge assumptions, and connect data to decisions that improve performance and impact.
  • Experience building outcome frameworks, dashboards, scorecards, insights, analytics products, or executive reporting that drive decision-making.
  • Advanced analytics expertise, including predictive modelling, segmentation, measurement design, statistical analysis, data visualization, and practical application to business, customer, and health outcome questions.
