The Site
This seat is on the Owner's side, not the contractor's. You represent the Owner, with delegated authority to review, approve and authorize field activities in your area, and to stop or redirect work for safety, quality, operational or schedule reasons. When an area construction manager reports a system complete, you take ownership of it, verify it is complete, and turn it over for pre-commissioning.
What You'll Do
- Act as the Owner's representative and construction leader for all assigned piping scope
- Direct and oversee contractor execution of piping installation, welding, NDE, pressure testing, tie-ins, reinstatement, mechanical completion and turnover
- Review and approve contractor work plans, execution strategies, methodologies, sequencing and recovery plans within delegated authority
- Set construction priorities and work sequencing, and recommend resource deployment, scope clarification and recovery plans to senior project leadership
- Monitor contractor crew levels, supervision, productivity and work quality, and direct corrective action when performance falls short
- Review, validate and approve contractor daily Labour, Equipment and Materials (LEM) reports
- Issue, monitor and close construction hazard work permits, confirming hazards, isolations and interfaces are controlled before work starts
- Verify work against approved drawings, specifications, P&IDs, isometrics and applicable codes, and lead field reviews, readiness assessments, turnover evaluations and punch-list prioritization
What You Bring
- 10+ years of progressive industrial construction leadership, not counting apprenticeship, with extensive piping construction expertise, typically built through foreman, superintendent or construction manager roles
- Experience directing contractor activities and leading field execution on large industrial, petrochemical, energy, oil and gas, hydrogen or major capital projects
- Strong understanding of piping systems, welding, quality requirements, testing, construction sequencing and turnover, and the ability to apply drawings, specifications and technical requirements to field decisions
- Proven independent judgment on construction execution, work sequencing, resource priorities and risk
- Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution and decision-making skills, with a record of leading contractor organizations to results
- Commitment to safety leadership, and the ability to work independently in a demanding field environment
Nice to Have
- Experience as an Owner's Representative or on an Owner's Construction Management Team on major capital projects (a strong asset)
- Experience reviewing and approving contractor execution strategies, directing corrective actions and driving contractor performance improvement
- Experience managing multi-discipline interfaces across large contractor workforces

It is local day shift work on a major capital energy project, running an estimated 10 to 16 months.
Benefits
- Day shift, 40 hours per week, on one major capital project
- Life insurance plus AD&D with critical illness and cancer coverage
- Extended health: drugs, hospital, hearing, orthotics, vision, and paramedical including mental health
