Original job description

Own our growth channels. Double down on what works. Build what comes next.

About Ground 🟢

What we do: Ground builds AI revenue agents that help consumer brands acquire customers, recover missed sales, and drive repeat purchases. We work with brands including Makeup by Mario, Goop, OneSkin, and Ghia.

Who we are: We’re supported by great customers and investors, having raised from world class investors such as Techstars, Ulu Ventures, FFF, Transpose Platform, and amazing angels who have built and backed many unicorns.

Our mission: Elevating businesses worldwide by uncovering their hidden potential.

The opportunity 💡

We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Engineer (Content) who can identify what’s driving results, understand why it works, and build the systems and experiments to scale it, with a deep understanding of content marketing.

We already have growth channels that generate revenue. Your job is to turn those early successes into repeatable, measurable acquisition engines across two core channels:

  • Owning paid: You’ll support paid acquisition across LinkedIn, Meta, and other channels where our buyers spend time - developing campaigns, allocating budgets, and improving performance based on qualified pipeline to drive demos.
  • Organic channels: You’ll own the newsletter journey. The content we publish, who discovers it, why they subscribe, and what moves them to book a demo. You’ll scale our newsletter into a full blown channel to drive more demos - and no, it’s not about writing cool content.
  • Test new channels & growth motions: Spend 80% of your time scaling proven inbound channels and 20% discovering what works next. You’ll own those experiments - from identifying opportunities and launching tests to measuring results and deciding what to scale.
  • Use agents and automation: Run programs leaner than the headcount suggests.

We want someone who sees an opportunity and carries it through: from idea to launch, distribution, measurement, and improvement.

The type of growth marketer we’re looking for

  • You start with KPIs. Reason from first principles. Measure what drives growth.
  • Work backward from qualified booked demos and revenue. Understand what needs to happen at each step - from reaching the right audience to earning a click, converting interest, and creating a sales opportunity. Identify the constraint and focus your effort there.
  • Connect weekly activity to outcomes. Know which content, campaigns, and distribution efforts are generating growth while running your sprints with real goals. Use that evidence to decide what deserves more time, what needs to change, and what to stop.
  • Measurement obsessed: Track audience growth, spend, opens, click-through rates, conversion rate, unsubscribe rates, and booked demos. Make clear decisions about which ads to kill, iterate, or scale - and when there’s enough evidence to act.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience: 5–7 years in growth or performance marketing, with most of it at early-stage startups (pre-seed through Series A). Bonus if you’ve been a founder or the first marketing hire.
  • Track record: You’ve helped take a company from $1M to $10M ARR, with the pipeline and revenue numbers to show for it.
  • AI-native builder: You don’t just use AI tools, you build your own agents and automations to research, write, distribute and follow up. Show us something you built. Claude, GPT, Hermes, OpenClaw are your BFFs.
  • Strong content marketing judgment: You can find the angle, write copy that converts and tell whether a piece gives the right reader a reason to act.
  • Analytical rigor: You use numbers to find what’s broken and decide what to do next, not to report on what already happened.
  • Technical comfort: You connect tools, ship landing page changes and write lightweight code when it’s faster than waiting on someone.
  • Ownership: You move independently, and when you need a decision you bring a recommendation with it. You don’t need to ask for permission AND are numbers driven.
  • Strongly preferred: Experience growing a newsletter, paid ads, or a content-led B2B SaaS funnel. You’ve managed spend on Meta and LinkedIn and been judged on cost per demo, pipeline and ROI for a B2B SaaS or AI-SaaS company.

The support you’ll have

You’ll work closely with the founders and sales & customer team, with access to customer stories, a designer, and AI tools that accelerate execution. You’ll own the strategy, coordination, and results.

What success looks like

  • You drive measurable growth impacting our ARR directly.
  • You build inbound channels that consistently generate qualified booked demos at scale.
  • You identify why existing channels work and turn those insights into repeatable growth.
  • You use performance data to forecast ROI, determine where to invest, and understand how additional spend affects results.
  • You own growth initiatives from idea to measurable outcome, moving independently and closing the loop without founder follow-up.

Our values

  • Ubuntu: “I am because we are”
  • Excellence through intellectual humility
  • Move with urgency and focus
  • Challenge limits and think critically
  • We value differences

What we offer

  • 🩺 Benefits: Excellent medical, dental and vision benefits
  • 🍁 Location: Toronto, ON (in-person, 4–5 days from the office)
  • 🌍 Offsite retreats: We’ve been to Barcelona, Munich, Portugal, and Montreal - decide where we go next!
  • 🍣 Team activities: Lunches, dinners
  • 🏝️ Unlimited PTO
  • 🕸️ Access to a world-class network: You’ll gain invaluable insights from legendary investors, operators, and leaders. You’ll also be exposed to the minds behind venture studios that built Liquid Death, as well as investors from Serena Williams’ fund, Initialized, and 776, founded by Garry Tan and Alexis Ohanian.

We keep a lean team, and this is a rare opportunity to join us in building a generational company - you’ll learn a lot, build cool products, and grow as our company scales! We love having many voices and diverse backgrounds shape our work and culture. Most importantly, if you like fast-moving growth curves… you’ll soon be celebrating and be part of major milestones in the coming months! 💸🚀📈
