Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Part-Time Cafeteria Attendant to join our team in the Long-Term Care Unit. The successful candidate will support daily cafeteria operations by providing excellent service to residents, families, staff, and visitors while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hospitality.
The hourly wage for this role is $17.75. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to residents, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Prepare, serve, and replenish food and beverage items according to established procedures.
- Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized cafeteria, dining, and serving area.
- Stock and rotate food products, beverages, and supplies as needed.
- Follow all food safety, infection prevention, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and workstations.
- Monitor inventory levels and report supply needs to management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient cafeteria operations.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service or food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an asset.
- Experience in healthcare, hospital, long-term care, or cafeteria settings is considered an asset.
