Job Summary

We're looking for a Senior Designer, Fleece GARAGE to shape the collections our customer reaches for every day. This is a role for a designer who lives for the details, fabric, color, print, fit and knows how to turn a trend into a bestseller. You'll create head-to-toe outfits that feel fresh, on-brand, and made for the way she lives.

Reporting to the Design Director, you'll partner closely with Concept, Merchandising, Sourcing, and our other product teams to take each collection from first sketch to store and digital launch.

Main Responsibilities

Identify emerging fashion trends and translate them into concept and product direction that feels relevant, aspirational, and distinctly GARAGE for our customer;
Create and communicate design concepts through sketching, digital design tools, AI-assisted exploration where appropriate, and other visual communication methods;
Edit and curate the assortment to create a thoughtful balance of ideas against the business line plan, ensuring the category delivers the right mix of range, newness, emotional product, and commercial clarity;
Lead tech design setups with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency across tech sketches, BOMs, design packages, construction notes, and handoff to Technical Design;
Attend fittings and actively contribute to fit, construction, proportion, and detail problem-solving throughout the product development process;
Partner closely with Design Director, Merchandising, Technical Design, and Sourcing to ensure designs are creative, executable, and aligned with business objectives;
Communicate design ideas clearly and collaboratively in key meetings, building alignment and inspiring confidence across Design, Merchandising, Production, and leadership;
Maintain a strong and thorough knowledge of raw materials, partnering closely with the Materials team on seasonal fabric sourcing, managing fabric requests/approvals, and supporting the Design Director with seasonal fashion and material needs.

Qualifications

A post-secondary diploma, DEC, or bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, or related field;
Over 7 years of fashion design experience, with strong technical sketching skills;
Highly creative Designer with strong fashion and commercial sensibility, a high level of taste, and a deep understanding of the GARAGE customer and brand aesthetic;
Strong experience and point of view in fabric, wash, artwork, trims, and other surface details, with the ability to translate these elements into compelling apparel design;
Strong fashion perspective and trend awareness, with the ability to identify emerging trends and determine how and when they are relevant to the GARAGE customer;
Fluency in digital design and presentation tools, including Adobe Creative Suite;
Experience with AI-assisted design tools, PLM systems, and/or other apparel design platforms is preferred;
Experience managing direct reports and providing creative direction, feedback and mentorship within a design team;
Familiarity with trend forecasting and fashion research platforms, such as WGSN, Tagwalk, and similar resources;
Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate a clear creative point of view and influence cross-functional partners and leadership;
Strong understanding of the apparel product development process, from initial concept and sketch through development, fittings, and final product execution;
Ability to balance creative vision with commercial strategy, ensuring the product is both fashion-forward and relevant to the GARAGE customer and business.
