YOUR CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Construction Director, the Project Director acts as a strategic and operational leader responsible for the overall performance of the projects under their responsibility. They supervise project managers and site teams, ensure consistency in practices, control risks, costs, and schedules, and act as the escalation point for major issues. They must also be adept at prioritizing tasks. The successful candidate must be able to execute multiple mandates independently, manage priorities effectively, and intervene rigorously in resolving daily challenges. Targeted project profile: relevant experience in the construction of multi-story projects and experience managing projects worth $20 million or more.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Governance and Performance

Ensure the overall performance of multiple projects (costs, schedule, quality, risks)
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects (bi-monthly)
Conduct structured weekly project reviews with project managers
Conduct structured monthly project reviews with management
Act as an escalation point for major issues (costs, deadlines, contractual)
Maintain an active presence on the construction site, including weekly visits.

Financial and Contractual Management (Executive Level)
Oversee budget monitoring and validate monthly cost reports.
Approve change management and major claims strategies.
Participate in or lead high-stakes or complex contract negotiations.
Ensure compliance with billing and cost control practices.

Contract Management, Procurement, Subcontractors, and Suppliers
Analyze and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids.
Participate in preparing the scope of work for the request for proposals (subcontractor).
Analyze and approve subcontracts and extras.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements: subcontracts and client contracts.

Team Management and Development
Supervise, support, coach, and evaluate project managers Identify training needs and participate in skills development
Ensure the consistent application of EMD-Batimo methods, procedures, and standards Client and Stakeholder Relations
Act as the client's primary point of contact for major issues
Maintain a proactive and trusting relationship with clients and professionals

Advanced financial analysis skills;
Strong adaptability and change management skills;
Communication and organizational skills;
Required technical skills associated with the job;
Ability to work in a team and under pressure (speed of execution);
Relationship management, leadership, negotiation skills, and conflict resolution skills are essential;
Ability to work rigorously and independently;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), MS-Project, and Adobe;
Advanced proficiency in Meastro is an asset;

Profil de projets visés : expérience pertinente dans la construction de projets multi-étages et avoir géré des projets de 20 millions et plus.

VOTRE RÔLE ET VOS RESPONSABILITÉS

Gouvernance et performance des projets

Assurer la performance globale de plusieurs projets (coûts, échéancier, qualité, risques)
Assurer le suivi des indicateurs clés de performance (KPI) des projets (Bi-mensuel)
Effectuer des revues hebdomadaires structurées des projets avec les chargés de projet
Effectuer des revues mensuelles structurées des projets avec la direction
Agir comme point d’escalade pour les enjeux majeurs (coûts, délais, contractuels)
Assurer une présence active au chantier, incluant des visites hebdomadaires.

Gestion financière et contractuelle (niveau direction)

Superviser le suivi budgétaire et valider les rapports de coûts mensuels
Approuver les stratégies de gestion des changements et des réclamations majeures
Participer ou mener les négociations contractuelles à enjeux financiers élevés ou complexes
S’assurer de la conformité des pratiques de facturation et de contrôle des coûts

Gestion contractuelle, achats, sous-traitants et fournisseurs

Analyser et négocier les soumissions des sous-traitants et des fournisseurs.
Participer à la préparer des étendues de travaux de l’appel d’offre (sous-traitant)
Effectuer l’analyse et l’approbation des contrats de sous-traitance ainsi que des extras.
Assurer le suivi et l’application des exigences contractuelles : contrats de sous-traitance et contrat client.

Encadrement et développement des équipes

Encadrer, supporter, coacher et évaluer les chargés de projets
Identifier les besoins de formation et participer au développement des compétences
S’assurer de l’application uniforme des méthodes, procédures et standards EMD‑Batimo

Relation client et parties prenantes

Agir comme interlocuteur principal du client pour les enjeux majeurs
Maintenir une relation de confiance et proactive avec les clients et professionnels
Participer aux réunions stratégiques clés et aux démarrages de projets
Participer en chantier aux réunions des professionnels
Soutenir les chargés lors de situations sensibles ou conflictuelles

Qualité, conformité et gestion des risques

Superviser la gestion des risques projet
S’assurer du traitement rigoureux des non‑conformités
Veiller au respect des exigences contractuelles, réglementaires et des standards internes

Santé et sécurité (SST) et conformité

Assurer le suivi des enjeux de santé et sécurité (SST) ainsi que l’application du programme de prévention.

COMPÉTENCES CLÉS

Vous possédez idéalement

Ingénieur professionnel ou Bac en génie de construction ou DEC en technologie de l’architecture ou du génie civil ou expérience équivalente
Minimum 10 ans d’expérience dans un poste similaire avec gestion de projets ou sur un chantier ;
Capacité à gérer de 2-3 projets simultanément
Bonne vision globale des projets complexes
Capacité d’analyse financière avancé
Bonne capacité d’adaptation et de gestion du changement
Compétences en communication et organisation
Compétences techniques nécessaires associées au travail
