Technical Sales – Rock Reinforcement & Ground Support

Underground Mining | Sudbury, Ontario

Are you experienced in rock reinforcement, ground support or underground mine development and interested in taking the next step in your career?

GRTS is working with an established international mining technology company to recruit a Technical Sales professional for its growing Rock Reinforcement business in Canada.

This is an opportunity to join an established operation with a strong existing customer base across Canadian underground mining. You’ll work directly with mine sites, combining technical knowledge of ground support with customer development and commercial responsibility.

We are open to speaking with candidates from both mining suppliers and underground operations. You do not necessarily need to come from a traditional sales background.

The Role

Work directly with underground mining customers on rock reinforcement and ground support applications
Support customers with the selection, testing and implementation of ground support solutions
Manage and develop relationships with an established portfolio of mining customers
Identify and develop new business opportunities across the underground mining market
Provide technical support around products including rock bolts, dynamic support, resin/rebar bolts and associated ground support systems
Work closely with mine operations, ground control, technical services and other stakeholders
Support product trials, testing and new applications at customer sites
Develop long-term relationships within the Canadian underground mining community

Who We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in people with hands-on or technical experience in areas such as:

Rock reinforcement / rock bolting
Ground support / ground control
Dynamic ground support
Cable bolting
Resin or rebar bolting
Mechanised bolting
Underground development
Rock mechanics / geotechnical engineering

Your background could be with a ground support manufacturer or mining supplier, or you may currently work for an underground mine, mining contractor or technical consultancy.

Relevant backgrounds could include Technical Sales, Ground Support Specialist, Ground Control, Rock Mechanics, Geotechnical, Bolting Trainer, Development Supervisor, Mine Captain, Technical Services or similar positions.

Previous sales experience is advantageous but not essential. Technical credibility, knowledge of underground mining and the ability to build strong relationships with customers are the priorities.
