As the Accountant, you are an integral member of the Finance team, supporting the Controller and broader team in maintaining accurate financial records, reporting, tax compliance, and month-end and year-end processes. The role also involves coordinating with external accountants and auditors and ensuring financial matters are resolved accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
In a perfect world, you are a chartered professional accountant (CPA), or well on your way to being one, with at least a few years of hands-on experience in a full cycle accountant role. Advanced MS excel skills, exposure to Microsoft Dynamics, along with experience working with medium to large sized companies, will score you extra credit.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and reporting according to statutory compliance.
- Complete bank and other account reconciliations.
- Prepare daily sales summaries.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on delinquent accounts.
- Prepare GST/PST tax returns and submit government tax remittances.
- Post intercompany transactions and ensure all entries and corresponding transactions are entered in the respective entities.
- Complete the month end close processes (preparation of journal entries, recurring entries and accruals).
- Prepare quarterly reporting and dashboards.
- Cash flow reporting and monitoring.
- Maintain paper and electronic filing systems to provide accurate records.
- Proactively resolve discrepancies and outstanding issues.

Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements, reports, reconciliations, tax returns, sales summaries, and cash flow updates while monitoring accounts receivable and resolving discrepancies. Support month-end and year-end close, quarterly reporting, intercompany accounting, recordkeeping, and coordination with external accountants and auditors.
Requirements
The employer seeks someone with at least a few years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience; a CPA designation or progress toward one is preferred. Advanced Excel skills, exposure to Microsoft Dynamics, experience in medium-to-large companies, and knowledge of business processes, financial controls, and risk management are valued.
