Job Description

The Industrial Electrical Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships while driving sales growth within the industrial electrical market. This role requires an experienced sales professional with strong industry knowledge, technical product expertise, and an established network of industrial customers and contractors.

The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, develop existing accounts, provide electrical product and application solutions, and work closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service from quotation through to order completion.

Key Responsibilities

Grow sales and gross margin across an assigned industrial territory and customer base.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industrial customers, contractors, EPCs, and end users.
Identify, pursue, and secure new business and project opportunities.
Manage key accounts and expand product penetration and share of wallet.
Identify customer needs and provide effective electrical product and application solutions.
Prepare, present, and follow up on quotations, proposals, and project opportunities.
Review RFQs, specifications, and project requirements to develop competitive solutions.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver pricing, solutions, and service.
Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide reliable forecasts.
Monitor market trends, competitors, pricing, and emerging opportunities.
Resolve customer issues and ensure a high level of service throughout the sales process.
Maintain strong technical and product knowledge through ongoing training and supplier engagement.
Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and supplier functions

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience in the electrical, industrial, or related distribution industry.
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical products, applications, and customers.
Established relationships within the industrial electrical market considered a strong asset.
Proven track record of achieving sales growth and developing new business.
Strong understanding of electrical contractors, industrial customers, EPCs, and project-based sales.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities independently.
Strong business acumen with an understanding of pricing, margins, and profitability.
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
