Why we have this role:

The GVF Group is looking for a Procurement Coordinator to support the day-to-day execution of our procurement and supply activities.

This is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating purchasing, inbound logistics, inventory availability, supplier communication, pricing, and MRP activities across the business. You’ll keep purchase orders, supplier follow-ups, inventory information, and system data accurate and up to date, helping ensure we have the right materials available when they’re needed.

You’ll work closely with our Senior Procurement Specialist and teams across Production, Warehouse, Finance, and Operations, helping keep things moving while supporting broader procurement initiatives.

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time position operating primarily out of 486 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario. Your regular working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Due to the nature of the role, you may occasionally be required to work outside of these standard hours to meet the business needs.

This role requires regular coordination between office-based purchasing activities and operational areas, including the Main Street and Dobbie Drive locations as business needs require. While some tasks may require time in warehouse or inventory areas to verify information, confirm receipts, or support inventory accuracy, the primary focus of the role is procurement coordination, system accuracy, supplier follow-up, and inventory communication.

What you’ll do:

Coordinate day-to-day purchasing activities for ingredients, finished goods, and supplies.
Create, issue, update, and track purchase orders in our ERP system.
Monitor inventory levels, upcoming requirements, supplier lead times, and open orders to help maintain reliable supply.
Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery dates, shortages, pricing, documentation, and other purchasing matters.
Coordinate inbound delivery information with suppliers, carriers, warehouse, production, and procurement.
Identify potential shortages, late orders, inventory concerns, and other supply issues and escalate them when needed.
Support MRP and inventory planning by reviewing system information and identifying opportunities to improve lead times, minimum/maximum levels, and purchasing data.
Maintain accurate supplier, item, pricing, and purchasing information within our systems.
Prepare and maintain procurement reports and tracking related to open orders, late deliveries, inventory, and supplier performance.
Help identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory visibility, and overall procurement efficiency.
Support inventory counts and verification activities as required.
Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier documentation.

Your background includes:

2+ years of experience preferred in purchasing, procurement coordination, supply chain, logistics, inventory, customer service, production support, or a related field.
Experience working with an ERP or MRP system; strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with suppliers and internal teams.
A problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues, take action, and know when to escalate.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Post-secondary education in supply chain, business, logistics, agriculture, or a related field is an asset.
Experience in agriculture, feed, food manufacturing, or the livestock industry is an asset.
