We’re looking for a senior developer who writes AL fluently, knows the standard data model without looking it up, and can turn messy business requirements into clean, upgrade-safe extensions.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain Business Central extensions in AL (per-tenant and/or AppSource)
- Customize and configure Business Central modules, including Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory, and Sales , to meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and workflows using standard and custom tools.
- Integrate Business Central with third-party applications, APIs, and web services .
- Translate functional requirements from consultants and clients into technical designs
- Build integrations with third-party systems using APIs, web services (OData/SOAP), and Azure services
- Lead or support NAV/C/AL to BC migrations and code-to-extension conversions
- Develop and customize reports (RDLC, Word, Excel layouts)
- Handle version upgrades and keep extensions compatible with Microsoft’s release waves
- Troubleshoot performance issues using telemetry (Application Insights) and the performance profiler
- Write automated tests and manage builds through CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub, AL-Go)
- Review code and mentor junior developers
- Write technical documentation that people will actually read
What You Bring
Must-haves
- 5+ years of development experience on Dynamics NAV and/or Business Central
- Strong AL skills: events and subscribers, table/page extensions, codeunits, interfaces, enums
- Solid understanding of core BC modules: Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Warehousing
- Experience building REST/OData APIs and integrations
- Experience with VS Code, Git, and Docker/BC sandboxes
- Ability to work directly with clients and explain technical topics in plain language
Nice-to-haves
- Microsoft certification MB-820 (Business Central Developer)
- AppSource app development and the validation process
- Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) integration
- Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Service Bus
- C/AL experience for legacy NAV upgrades
- Manufacturing, distribution, or Canadian payroll/tax localization experience

Responsibilities

Requirements
Requires at least five years of Dynamics NAV and/or Business Central development experience, strong AL skills, and knowledge of core Business Central modules and integrations. Candidates should be comfortable with VS Code, Git, Docker or Business Central sandboxes, and direct client communication; MB-820 certification and related Azure, Power Platform, or AppSource experience are advantageous.
