Original job description

Position: Parking Lot Assistant (2 positions)

Rate of Pay: $22 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7:15 am - 8:45 am AND 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Instructional School Days Only

Start Date: October 28th, 2026 - June 25th, 2027

Location: Craig Kielburger Secondary School

1151 Ferguson Drive, Milton, ON

Responsibilities

Morning duties: 7:15 am - 8:45 am

Access Control (Entrance & Exit): Monitor designated school entry and exit points to allow entry and exit exclusively for authorized vehicles: staff, student drivers, and school buses.
Traffic Management: Restrict access for all unauthorized vehicles during shift hours and direct parents to designated drop-off locations.
Shift Wrap-Up: Ensure entry and exit points are clear and fully operational at the end of the shift.

Afternoon duties: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Access Control (Entrance & Exit): Monitor designated school entry and exit points to allow entry and exit exclusively for authorized vehicles: staff, student drivers, and school buses.
Traffic Management: Restrict access for all unauthorized vehicles during shift hours and direct parents to designated pick-up locations.
Shift Wrap-Up: Perform a final check of entry and exit points before concluding the shift.

Note: No drop off or pick up traffic is permitted on site off Ferguson

Qualifications

Customer Service experience
Excellent verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
Ability to follow all Health and Safety procedures including wearing PPE
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift barriers and move them into the required positions
Ability to ensure the safety of students and staff
Ability to communicate with staff, students and parents
Ability to work with students and staff with different cultural and language background
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment
