As a member of the health care team, this role provides environmental support throughout the hospital.
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting preferred
- Demonstrates ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, both verbal and written
- Ability to use commercial cleaning equipment and to work with cleaning agents
- Ability to work on an active nursing floor, dealing with isolation procedures
- Good physical condition. Ability to stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, bending, climbing step ladder, pushing and lifting using good body mechanics
- Ability to demonstrate attributes that contributes to a respectful caring environment
- Ability to set priorities and organize work in response to department needs
- Ability to train for laundry and janitorial pooling as required

Responsibilities
This role provides essential environmental support throughout the hospital, including cleaning and maintenance tasks. The incumbent will work on active nursing floors, manage isolation procedures, and assist with laundry and janitorial pooling as needed.
Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of a Grade 12 education and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and reaching. Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting is preferred, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
