Original job description

Business Developer, Machine Tools & Carbide Recycling

Hand in Hand Technologies | Edmonton Area

Machining Consumables, Industrial Products & Tungsten & Special Alloy Recycling

About Hand in Hand Technologies

At Hand in Hand Technologies, our objective is to Add Value to Your Business. We help industrial customers get more from their tools, materials and equipment. With expertise in tungsten carbide products and demanding industrial applications, we help customers tackle tough wear challenges, improve performance and reduce costs. Our four service areas - industrial products and consumables, recycling and reclaim, component repair, and specialty manufacturing which allow customers to access multiple solutions that improve performance, reduce costs and recover value.

We’re a high-growth company expanding our sales team. Join us to build a territory, broaden your expertise and grow your career as the business expands.

The opportunity

Do you understand machining, tooling or industrial applications - and enjoy getting out to meet customers?

We’re looking for a Business Developer to generate new business across the Edmonton region while expanding relationships with existing customers. Initially focused on industrial products and recycling, you’ll connect with machine shops, industrial manufacturers and supply companies to understand their needs and identify opportunities to add value to their businesses.

This is a proactive business-development role. You’ll build relationships through phone calls, shop visits and consistent follow-up, supported by an experienced team that can help with technical questions, pricing and delivery.

What you’ll do

•Develop new business through prospecting calls, customer visits and consistent follow-up.

•Build an Edmonton-area territory, initially focused on customers within approximately 1.5 hours of the city.

•Identify opportunities for tungsten carbide tooling, diamond abrasives, industrial consumables, specialty threading inserts and tungsten and special alloy recycling.

•Understand customer requirements and work with the internal team on technical solutions and quotations.

•Manage opportunities from initial conversation through quoting, closing and post-sale follow-up.

•Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline, tracking opportunities, follow-up activities and progress through the sales process.

•Regular travel is expected for prospecting and customer visits throughout the assigned territory.

What you bring

•Sales or business-development experience, preferably with industrial customers.

•Practical knowledge of machining, tooling, mechanical applications or a related field.

•Confidence starting conversations, asking questions and explaining product value.

•Strong organization, follow-through and comfort using sales tracking tools.

•A willingness to learn, accept coaching and work closely with technical colleagues.

•A machinist, tooling specialist or mechanical engineering technologist with sales experience could be a strong fit.

•5-Year clean drivers abstract.

What we offer

•Competitive salary + Commission structure.

•Company vehicle.

•A benefits package (details to be discussed).

•The opportunity to build a territory and take ownership of customer relationships.

•Direct coaching, structured onboarding and support from experienced colleagues.

•Exposure to diverse products, applications and business areas.

•Room to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility as the company grows.

Interested?

Build your next career chapter with Hand in Hand Technologies. We’d like to hear how your sales experience, technical background and drive to develop new business can help us grow while delivering on our commitment to Add Value to Our Customers’ Businesses.
