Original job description
What are we building?
At Hard Rock Games, we’re not just making games - we’re crafting experiences that connect people, deliver thrills, and celebrate the spirit of Hard Rock. As the social casino gaming arm of Hard Rock Digital, our teams shape every stage of the journey from concept to launch to live operations, giving our teams the ability to innovate, experiment, and make real impact. With the backing of a globally recognized brand, we combine the agility of a startup with the reach of an entertainment powerhouse. Here, creativity thrives, ideas scale, and careers grow.
We’re looking for passionate creators, builders, and innovators to join us in shaping the future of free-to- play gaming. Let’s play hard.
What’s the position?
Hard Rock Games is hiring a Technical Artist to bring art and code together, making our 2Dand 3D assets look great and run smoothly across all devices. You'll build Animator components and state machines, tune VFX, set up materials and optimize assets so everything behaves as it should in-game.
What you'll do
- Integrate completed 2D and 3D assets, including characters, environment art and visual effects, into Unity and HTML.
- Set up and organize Animation Controllers, state machines, Materials and Prefabs so developers can use them cleanly.
- Build VFX animations using custom shaders and particle systems.
- Optimize assets for performance across multiple platforms, with a focus on draw calls, texture memory and batching.
- Work with developers to plan and create assets that fit gameplay systems and respect technical constraints.
- Support artists with tools, scripts and documentation that streamline asset integration.
- Troubleshoot pipeline issues and propose solutions that bridge gaps between art and engineering.
What are we looking for?
4+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or in a similar role, ideally in mobile or social games.
Strong proficiency in Unity, with a deep understanding of rendering pipelines, prefab workflows, materials and UI setup.
Experience with Spine or similar 2D animation and rigging software.
Experience with 3D software such as 3ds Max or Blender.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
Ability to translate creative intent into technical execution, working closely with artists and developers.
A keen eye for detail and a passion for visual polish and clean, efficient implementation.
An organized, methodical approach, with good communication and solid time management.
Nice to have
Knowledge of shader creation with Shader Forge or other node-based shader tools.
Scripting ability in C# or Python to build tools or automate the pipeline.
Familiarity with audio software.
Experience in casino, hyper-casual or monetized mobile games.
What’s in it for you?
Make a visible impact: you’ll own campaigns and events that shape how millions play.
Fast-paced execution + brand heritage: build boldly under the Hard Rock name.
Competitive compensation with flexible vacation and hybrid work.
Be part of a player-obsessed, inclusive team that trusts your autonomy and skills.
Influence product strategies, your post-mortems and insights will steer our roadmaps.
