Role Description The Landscape Maintenance Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role located in Burnaby, BC. This position oversees daily landscape maintenance operations, including scheduling crews, assigning tasks, and monitoring work quality across client properties. The supervisor coordinates lawn care, pruning, planting, weed control, irrigation checks, and seasonal clean-ups, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to site specifications. Responsibilities include training and mentoring team members, inspecting equipment and vehicles, communicating with clients and property managers, and reporting on site conditions and project progress. The role also involves supporting health and safety practices, identifying improvement opportunities, and helping maintain long-term client relationships.
Qualifications
- Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead crews, delegate tasks, provide coaching and feedback, and manage performance on multiple sites.
- Equipment Maintenance: Knowledge of landscape equipment operation and basic care, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and small machinery.
- Preventive Maintenance: Skills in planning and performing routine checks, servicing tools and vehicles, and reducing downtime through proactive upkeep.
- Maintenance & Repair, Troubleshooting: Capacity to identify mechanical issues, perform minor repairs, and coordinate service for more complex equipment problems.
- Relevant experience in landscape maintenance, horticulture, or groundskeeping, preferably in commercial or strata settings.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize work across multiple properties.
- Commitment to workplace safety, familiarity with safe work practices, and willingness to follow company and regulatory guidelines.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; eligibility to work in Canada.
- Assets: Formal horticulture training or certification, experience with irrigation systems, and familiarity with integrated pest management.
