Original job description

Fixed Operations Manager Okanagan, BC

Harris Auto Group | Full-Time, Permanent

Build a Great Career in One of Canada's Most Desirable Places to Live

Imagine advancing your automotive career in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, surrounded by lakes, mountains, wineries, golf courses and some of the best year-round outdoor recreation Canada has to offer.

Harris Auto Group is looking for an experienced, driven Fixed Operations Manager to lead the Service, Parts and Detail departments at one of our busy import dealerships in the Okanagan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader who enjoys being involved in the daily operation, developing people and building a successful business.

We are not looking for someone who wants to manage from behind a desk. We want a leader who is visible, engaged and comfortable rolling up their sleeves to help their team succeed.

The Opportunity

Our dealership has a strong foundation and significant opportunity for continued growth. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the operation, build on what is working and identify opportunities to improve performance.

Your focus will include:

Growing the business: Drive customer-pay labour sales, repair order counts, hours per RO and overall departmental profitability.
Customer retention: Build lasting relationships, improve customer loyalty and create an experience that keeps customers coming back.
Leading from the front: Be actively involved in the service drive, shop and parts department. Support advisors at the counter when needed and help resolve challenges before they become problems.
Developing your people: Coach, motivate and hold your team accountable while creating a positive, productive workplace.
Operational excellence: Improve shop productivity, dispatch, workflow, appointment capacity and overall efficiency.
Sales department support: Manage a busy vehicle reconditioning operation, ensuring quality work and timely turnaround.
Customer experience: Take ownership of customer satisfaction and ensure your team consistently delivers exceptional service.
Financial performance: Understand your numbers, manage expenses and make informed decisions that improve gross profit and departmental net.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is organized, motivated, confident and genuinely enjoys the automotive business.

The ideal candidate will bring:

Proven leadership experience in automotive Service or Fixed Operations management.
A demonstrated ability to grow sales, improve profitability and develop high-performing teams.
Strong knowledge of dealership operations, including service, parts and reconditioning.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with employees and customers.
A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
Strong organizational skills, follow-through and personal accountability.
An understanding of dealership KPIs and how to turn performance data into meaningful improvements.
Experience with Asian import automotive brands is preferred.
Experience with PBS dealership management software is an asset.

We value results, leadership ability and attitude over simply the number of years someone has held a management title.

Why Harris Auto Group?

Harris Auto Group is a growing Canadian automotive group with dealerships across British Columbia and Alberta.

We believe great people build great dealerships. We provide our leaders with the opportunity to take ownership of their departments, contribute ideas and make a meaningful impact on the business.

You will have the support of an experienced leadership team, established processes and the opportunity to grow professionally within our organization.

Why the Okanagan?

There are not many places in Canada where you can enjoy a rewarding automotive career and this kind of lifestyle.

From boating and beaches in the summer to skiing and snowboarding in the winter, the Okanagan offers an exceptional balance of work and recreation. Add in incredible golf courses, wineries, restaurants and beautiful scenery, and it is easy to understand why so many people choose to call this region home.

Whether you already live in the area or are considering relocating, this is an opportunity to build your career somewhere you will genuinely enjoy living.

Ready for Your Next Challenge?

If you are an experienced automotive leader who enjoys developing people, growing a business and being part of the action, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference, takes pride in their results and is excited about the opportunity to lead a successful dealership operation.

Join Harris Auto Group and take the next step in your career in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

Apply today. All applications will be treated confidentially.
